MyLot, Social Media and Content Strategy Tip: Tags and Hashtags

This could come under the categorization of a TIP: myLot tip, social media tip, content strategy tip. Whichever! To me it's like a terrific treasure find! Maybe others already knew but this change was news to me! When composing a discussion for myLot, it is recommended that you TAG your content. This, as you know, helps others find similar discussions on the same topic, etc. 5 tags are recommended. But it doesn't stop there. The Admin folks at this site have gone a step further and that step is an outstanding improvement. The purpose of HASHTAGS is the same as the tags. To make it easy to retrieve or find our digital data at a later date and/or to help others locate our content. We should definitely make use of them, if we want people to find our stuff. It's been a while since I have tweeted a myLot discussion. But today I tweeted one and guess what? Those tags in the green boxes at the top of the post convert to hashtags. YES!!! That's fantastic! Anybody out there who uses Twitter knows … this is freaking awesome! Kudos to this site's official moderator. GoAskAlex_Admin ( @GoAskAlice )
