Wondering if people will buy my writing

I was on Storybird and the more I think about it that site is almost like a traditional publishing house accept online. I just hope someone or many buy my writings. That would be great. I really like the blogging sites I am on including this one, but when I am logged in to Storybird.com I feel like a real writer. The idea that someone could and can buy my books sounds so good to me after all these years of trying to find somewhere to write children's books. Storybird also has a place where you can also write for adults as well and I think I may write some lesson plans or other items on that part. Do you think I am wrong for thinking this way?

I had a quick look at Storybird and though it seemed like a good place to begin writing, with good moderation, it also seemed like it was charging too much and paying its writers well below the odds.
I hope a lot of people will buy your "writings" Good luck.
