What will you do if someone borrows money and do not return back?

Sometimes people borrow money from you and might not return money on the day they say they will and sometimes we will be short of money and the other person might say that they will return later because they are also short of money. Sometimes we all count on the money that is borrowed for our own purposes. Have you been on such situations and what did you do on such occasions?

This happened to me also. I tried to send messages on the phone but someone very wise once said "promises are meant to be broken" ... so i did not get my money back.

Ha, ha, I can relate you @mammots, someone did it to me also, borrowed some amount and promise to pay but later I asked the payment and replied, promises are meant to be broken and until now, I wasn't able to receive the payment.

I don't expect borrowed money to be paid back ~ usually it doesn't happen.

@Cintronwriter yep because if you expect it, it won't come and if it does cool. But normally borrowed money does not come returned

I have been doing some business before . I have clothes bought in installments and some would pass for their due date . And when they have paid all already , even if it's way past the due date , i don't allow them to buy on credit from me anymore .

I also think that trust should always be there in friendships and relationships when borrowing and giving back money.

Most of the time when people borrow money, they are actually in need, but when d the time comes to return money, some people forget bcoz they think, other person might have forget it or they intentionally faking they forget to return, also for some people dis the easiest way to get money without returning for long time, best is u should track your money and put a check on who have your money and u should get it on time.

If the amount is not so big, I just forgive. If the amount is really unforgettable, they have to be reminded

l have a very bad experience with this, someone very close to me owe me over $5,000.At first he acted as if he did not remember.excuse me, how do you forget a 5,000 loan. when l got mad and demanded the money, he had some smart answers. l feel so hurt, used and so stupid, we exchanged ugly words and I said,"just wait, I'm waiting for your weak moment" and l meaan it. Been waiting for the money 1 year now. So yes do not borrow out money

If asked to help someone by letting then borrow money, I make sure what I give is what I can part with. I don't expect to be paid back, so when I give it, I give as if giving to a charity. This allows me to part with the money in a good mood and ill will toward the person.

Good Day, This situation can lead to uncomfortable meetings with the borrower that you lent money to. Take the relationship you have with this person in consideration. Do you know them as well as you think? Are they family? Either way, there should be a level of respect that allows the borrower to work out a solution to pay back what is lent to him or her without too many reminders. Set rules on how you expect to be paid after you lend someone money. This will help the borrower to understand there may be consequences if payment is not received in a timely fashion. This lets the borrower know you expect payment. One does not have to end a relationship over nonpayment of a loan, but it does give the lender a reason not to do too many more favors or have too much trust for someone who cannot or won't repay you.

A great principle I always set myself is that I will not lend money that I cannot part with. If a friend of mine needs money and if I have extra, I let them borrow it and let them decide when they want to pay it. If they don't pay it, i'll just forget it since I know that I am willing to give up the money I lend them. Most of the time, my friends that borrow money pay me, sometimes with interest although I never asked them too. It's a great principle to live by. Kudos~!
