My husband and I have several pets. Our dog and our cat get along most of the time, but the other night the dog tried to lick the cat's fur. She didn't like it and she slapped him. It looked very funny when she hit him. He got very surpriced and he jumped backwards. He didn't try to touch her again. Our dog lets the cat share his basket and his blanket, but he gets angry when she tries to eat his food 
It is fun to watch the way they interact.

That is true, they are very different. I like to watch our pets. We also have a rabbit and a guinea pig.

@JudyEv I have two different breeds. The youngest ones are holland lop rabbits. I am not sure that what the other breed is. We adopted those two. They used to belong to a friend of a friend, but he couldn't keep them anymore.

@Porcospino Some of the rabbit breeds now are so cute. I love the ones with the floppy ears. Are yours a particular breed?

They are really funny pets.
I dont have any Porcsopino, but when I did yes, they were always so very amusing.
I always think it is so funny the way that dogs get scared of the cats.

It is very funny to watch them. I still remember the expression on the dog's face when she hit him. He got very surpriced and jumped backwards.

That slap must have amused you no end. We have had cat and dog great relationship, sleeping together, eating together, playing together, wanting the dog to be there when she was going to have her babies..............................

That is great. It sounds like they really like eachother. Our dog lets the cat sleep in his basket, and sometimes they even sleep together, but the dog gets angry when she touches his food.

I think that our dog is more tolerant than our cat, at least when he doesn't touch her food. Do you have cats or dogs?

@Porcospino No, we have no pets, but my niece has a dog and all our neighbors have cats and the cats are all the time in our garden.

Dogs & cats do have their moments @Porcospino . I have 12 indoor cats that don't always get along.

That is a lot of cats, and I can imagine that they don't along all the time. I have 7 pets myself, but only one of them is a cat.

It is entertaining to watch the way that pets interact. My pets get along most of the time, but the cat suddenly had enough the other night

Now I do not but back when we had our own home I had a dog and a cat. She , Midnight, would curl up wlth Swap the dog. Swap did not really mind but let her get close to his food wahop he w\ould give her a hard pawing. Usually though they did really get along well

It is nice that your dog and your cat got along well. Our dog and our cat also get along most of the time, but the cat tries to eat the dog's food sometimes, and he gets angry when that happens. He can't touch the cat's food because it is out of reach, but I think that he would eat it if he could

I don't have a pet currently but my mom has a pomeranian and my brother has a shitzu and they do get a long well. Once in awhile they'll get into a fight but they'll soon be back playing with each other again.

yeah dogs don't want to share their food, I remember that when my elder female dog got angry with my new puppy back then. even today he's big now but can't afford to score on her because she just get angry

The same thing happened in my parents' home when they had an adult dog and a puppy. Don't take my food

Yes, 3 pitbulls.
I think so but they are on separate cages because they might bite people. Looks lke they are friends. But, if they see a stray cat, and we give the cat some food, I think the dogs get jealous and would want to bite the cat. Just an observation. They bark at the cat.

I can imagine that the dogs would get jealous if you feed a stray cat. We don't usually see stray cats here, but I think that our dog would get jealous as well.
