Suddendeath poetry challenge, Ode to Easter

Welcome to this weekend’s Suddendeath poetry challenge, Ode to Easter. Rules are as follows, write a poem in any style using the five words that I give you (could bold them for ease in others to find). Write it in one sitting or in under an hour (only to quash your inner editor, rules are loose there). Add it here, OR link in a comment so we can enjoy each other’s. The words can be in any plurality or tense. Today’s words are: spring, bunny, egg, basket, grow My entry is below: ------------------------------------------------------- Spring in the step, basket in hand, Looking for eggs, isn’t Easter grand? Found a chocolate bunny, all covered with ants. Dropped basket for running, bugs all over pants. Oh joy fire ants, watch the hives grow. Candy going everywhere, flying to and fro, Cat saw basket landing, helped himself to eggs. Couldn’t help but pounce, on swiftly moving legs. Dog saw cat going bounding, had to join the chase. Cat saw dog a’coming, and took off to join the race. A reckoning was coming, between those two and I. My legs they barreled into, and I went flying high. I landed in the wading pool, with splash and frowning face, With limbs a’flying, and lack of calming grace.

I may try and have a go at this later in the day, though I will have to have an interesting take on Spring since it's autumn here but an instant thought came to mind.

Bunny chasing egg
The end of Lent’s fasting will bring Easter Sunday, as we drift into spring All the parents and family spend money Buying children an egg or a bunny But one thing the children must know As the collection of eggs starts to grow Keeping them in one basket is madness As I found out one year to my sadness I used the bunny as a central display With the eggs placed around in array But this caused me major distress When I came back and found one egg less I could not understand why the count Was one less than the previous amount It took me some time to discover That the bunny had eaten the other

@Jessicalynnt I have never trusted those devious bunnies since and always keep them well away from my eggs.

Hohoho Every Spring comes Easter quickly, Lent time fasting ends its days. Greenish grass starts growing thickly And the Sun shines warmer rays. Easter symbol is a bunny, That brings baskets full of eggs. All the children like this funny Ball of fur, that has four legs.

That is so good. I've had a go - six lines - the minimum needed to get all the words in! I didn't read this first so missed the bold and plurality bits - not that it matters.

bold is only so people can find the words easier, not a have too. as for the plurality thats so you could use eggs instead of egg etc, so also not a huge deal
