Recently, I haven't had as much time to read as I'd like, but some of the books I have read have been enjoyable. My tastes are eclectic. Here are some of my recent favorites (some are old and some are new): To See the Moon Again (Religious Fiction) Jamie Langston Turner The Professor (Classic) Charlotte Brönte Banker to the Poor (Nonfiction/Biography) Muhammad Yunus The Thirteenth Tale (Fiction/Literature) Diane Setterfield Murder in Chelsea (Popular Fiction) Victoria Thompson A Most Peculiar Circumstance (Religious Fiction) Jen Turano Have you read any of these? What is the best book you've read lately?

I wanted to contribute to the discussion, but sadly, though I have many books online available to me, I have no time to read them. I do love books and one day hope to be able to read one. I have one in particular that I want to read called River Dream written by a fellow myLotter DW Davis.

@puddleglum I used to listen to the audio books and were so soothing to me. The way my life is right now I am sadly not even able to do that.

I sympathize with you on being short on time. That's why I've started listening to audio books. I can "read" in the car or while painting my living room. Haha. I'll have to look into River Dream.

i havent read of their works. but Victoria Thompsons Murder in Chelsea sounds interesting, hope one day i'll be able to read that. The last best book ive read was i think Tripwire by Lee Child. its a thriller novel. Child became my favorite after.

Murder in Chelsea is a good mystery and part of a great series. I have heard of Lee Child's books, but have never read any of them. Maybe I should start with that one

The Jen Turano is a romance. It's set in the late 1800s. Do you like historical or contemporary romance?

I'll have to look into that one. My library lends e-books now, so I've been reading more lately.

I used to read books when I was in college but not anymore for I was busy with other activities. My daughters love to read books too. Seemed I didn't read those books that you mention.

It's definitely hard to find time to read in this busy world, but it's great that you've passed your love of reading on to your daughters.

The best book that I have read lately (up to the last 50 pages) is the Cairo Affair, by Olen Steinhauer. It starts out so well and continues with many surprises along the way. But,in the last fifty pages, extraneous characters and a general falling apart of the formerly riveting plot end up disappointing.

@puddleglum Yes it was so good, even in the first few pages.

It sounds interesting, but I do think it's sometimes difficult for authors to keep momentum going in the latter part of novels. I'm glad you enjoyed the first part anyway.
