In honor of Sir Elton's birthday and because he was my teenybopper idol, I'm counting down my top ten favorite Elton John songs. Song #9: Sartorial Eloquence You have to be a hard core Elton fan to have even heard this song. It was released as a single, but it bombed in the U.S. In fact, in a sad statement about the U.S.'s lack of education and apparent laziness to pick up a dictionary (this was 1980, after all), the U.S. release titled this song "Don't You Wanna Play This Game No More (Sartorial Eloquence)," afraid that nobody would buy a song with the word sartorial in the title. It didn't help. Of course, music had dramatically shifted by 1980 so Elton wasn't on top of the world the way he was in 1972-76. 21 At 33, the album from which this single (and the bigger hit, "Little Jeannie," came) was a good, solid album; however, by that time people were dance, dance, dancing, yowza, yowza, yowza, or coming out of the punk era into the synth era. Too bad. This was my favorite song when I first heard the album, and it remains my favorite from that album. Sartorial Eloquence Written by Elton John & Tom Robinson From 21 At 33, 1980
Elton John - Sartorial Eloquence (Don't you wanna play this Game no more) 1980 You've a certain sartorial eloquence And a style that's almost of your own You...

I still love "Your Song," from his self titled album. Loved the song, and the whole album.

Guess I am not as much of a die hard fan as I thought I was. Never heard this tune until just now. Elton John really is such a talented performer. I so enjoy his music. My son, who listens to music that I really don't care for, enjoys Elton John.

You are right I dont remember hearing this Four Walls. I am amazed at the fact he looked in the camera with no shades! An amazing man he truly rocks it no matter what he does. Happy BDay to a grand fellow, Elton John.

I have to admit, I know "Little Jeannie," but I don't think I've heard this one. Good song.
