Inside A Water Drop

I love Macro Photography. I will take a macro photo of just about anything. But I do love nature so most of my stuff in macro is flowers, water drops, snow flakes and the like. It had just rained when I took this shot a couple of years ago. And while the water drop in and of itself is pretty cool, what you can see reflecting inside the water drop is very cool as well. If you look at the left edge of the water drop itself you can see some of my flowers reflecting in the water. It's very small but you can see pink and possibly orange dots there. Those are some of my flowers in my garden. Taking macro shots takes practice and a steady hand. Getting a shot of a single water drop is exciting to me and the reflection is like an extra added bonus.

Wow this is a great shot. I am guessing the camera used for this shot is quite high tech?

It's a point and shoot, but takes a really good macro shot. My camera is a Panasonic Lumix. A great camera.

Very cool picture. The droplets almost look like a necklace. The reflection is interesting. You have been busy posting and I am trying to catch up. LOL (ps I am sleeping right now. LOL)

That is beautiful. Great catch! I also love macro photography, especially of nature. I am not very good at it, but I have had some shots that I am quite proud to have taken. My daughter has a better eye for it than I do, and I love many of her shots.

@fishtiger58 That is certainly true. My old camera was actually much better at macro photography than my new camera. The new one just does not want to adjust properly, even when on the right settings. The new one is supposed to be better, and it does have more "cool" features and options, such as borders and effects on pictures, than the old one, but it is really not better for actual photography.

@purplealabaster I actually have 3 cameras, and they all do certain things better than the others. So I know what you are saying.

Wow, that is an awesome photo. I don't do many macros, my hands are no longer that steady so I simply take kritter shots, at least I can put the dial on sports and hope that one of the 20 shots I take comes out good enough to share.

I do that with my kritters but when I do landscapes I can always crop out some of it if it is clear enough like I did with the poppies @fishtiger58

@rebelann I try to crop my shots sometimes but it confuses me so I just try for a good shot and then I don't have to crop lol.

I was a Chemistry student and your picture reminded me of chemistry patterns of molecules. How the water drop produced all that I see in your image is mind boggling.

Very cool shot! Do you know what the shutter speed is? I'm not sure I could keep my hand that steady. Int he old days, I used a tripod and cable release with my Olympus OM-1.

I love it, too. Now I could point you to some subjects that would be great. Have you ever heard, for example, of Lady's Thumb? It looks like a weedy grass with pink fingers containing seeds within. Those seeds are super tiny. But they look like the finest grained wood! Or how about pollen granules? Magnificent!

I am not sure that I would be very good at it Fishtiger. I don't have the steadiest of hands according to some of my photos... or maybe it's the camera. Yes, I will blame the camera lol! It is one that was pretty inexpensive and picked up on a whim!
