We call it dinner, and I'm proud to say that tonight we will eat the final steak in our freezer. No more having to give away or worse, throw away, perfectly good meat. Tomorrow we have a luncheon with our sister-in-law, and dinner with friends for our last two nights in Florida. I'll be busy closing up the condo for the next few days, and will pop on when I can. Meanwhile, it's ribeye for us tonight. What are you having?

We had a very good burger and fries and fresh lemonade, considering we are on the road it was very good!! Funny , Al ate his last ribeye Sunday night before we left. We ate all the fresh meat as well.

I thought of you today. Good to eat up what you can. We'll be following in your tire tracks soon enough. How far did you get today?

@DianneN This is exactly what I´d like to do. Only I don´t have the money. The most I have are 2 or 3 weeks in a resort in the middle of the Winter.

@DianneN We took the American habit to eat a larger breakfast and less at lunch and dinner. I can imagine you feel sad, leaving the Paradise it's always sad.

Enjoy your steak. I brought a dish home with me from my daughters - potatoes, vegetables, turkey & gravy - which I am just going to pop in the oven. Looking forward to enjoying the leftovers. I hope you enjoy your steak and that you have a nice trip back home.

That was sweet of your daughter to send you home with a dish of food. Enjoy it! Thanks. I will try to keep in touch while on the road.

@DianneN Supper was good. She had put the turkey in the crockpot and cooked it overnight, then brought it with her to the apartment. It just fell apart when she took it out and it was so good.

@AnneEJ I can imagine how good it was. its always nice to have a delicious dinner, especially when you don't have to cook it yourself. I'm sure you sent her on her way with many leftovers yourself, over the years. It's wonderful when your own children can do it, too.

I skip dinner and wind up for the night with a mug of hot milk with honey. It is the snacks earlier in the evening that sustains me. Today I had mango juice along with the snacks. The juice was prepared from mangoes in our garden.

@DianneN We have a problem here in that we do not get climbers to fetch them. I did find one and he did a shoddy job dropping them resulting in many rotting in the basket where they were kept to ripen. Talking about skipping dinner surely your husband could eat his meat and potatoes while you enjoy your milk and honey?

A mug of milk with honey sounds great, but my husband likes his meat and potatoes for dinner. What I wouldn't give to have my very own mango trees!

@allknowing I'm sorry about those mangoes. At least you can make juice out of them before they go bad. They are so healthy! But I like meat and potatoes, too! Lol!

It'll be a couple months yet before I eat steak. I'm thinking spaghetti, but not sure. I haven't been home long enough from the dentist to think about food. I hope you're able to say goodbye to your pet osprey before you leave.

i hope all went well at your appointment. I've been thinking about you. I pray I see Orville to say goodbye before we leave. He and Mrs. Orville seem to spend March sitting on the eggs in his nest. They both fly together to fish, but he does give me a quick hello or two. Even the missus gives me the eye. Lol!

@DianneN My appointment went great. Short and sweet, well not sweet, it's a dentist's office, but you know what I mean. So the missus gives you the eye, does she? I hope you have your camera ready when he shows up to say goodbye. I know it will be bittersweet, but you'll also have something to look forward to when you return.

I was hoping to read a discussion from you, and then I found one! I'm working an awful shift this week, from 1030 until 730, so its too early to sleep in, and I get off too late for me to want to eat supper-I get heartburn when I do that. So, I have a little wrap with cold cuts and cucumber slices around 3pm every day, and my applesauce, I so love applesauce. I'm glad that you are not wasting good food, and you'll enjoy your last few meals with your friends and family. I'm sure that your grandchildren are counting down the days until they can see you again.
