One fine day my friends son asked me for some peppermint Candy
Since he had helped me weed my garden I laughed and filled a sack
A friend had sent that lot of Peppermint sticks to me awhile back
She had forgotten Im a diabetic and do not eat much candy,Randy.
Randy grinned and thanked me as I had stuck five dollars in the sack
I knew he deserved it and at fourteen he had things he had a lack
Memory serves me R andy is now about my son's age a t least fifty
But that day he had been such a help and how he did it was nifty
Now that house and yard were long since sold , an error for sure
But I have to let by gones be bygones for sure
We live and learn often m ch too late but sometimes fate
Changes our pathways unless we are not too late
So now Im elderly, widowed and here at Westminister Vllla
So I do endure and move on as bygo nes are gone
I find happiness where I am at from dusk to dawn
I would rather be here than be chased by a gorilla.
