we finally got a pretty nice house. (I should say "I" got it)here in Florida. I practically broke myself doing so. these kids of mine never seem to have any money but I never seem to have a choice. It was either that or stay where Coco and I just kept getting sicker. We had her to the vet and it helped some. the fleas here are horrendous ! she is still itching and biting some because the meds she got only kills them after they are on her. Also I can't convince daughter they might be in the furniture. Now he is taking up the cat from next door. how do I make them understand if you have a pet you have to afford to take care of it and make sure it don't have fleas, etc.

Fleas are a problem in some places. There are sprays to fight fleas.

@marguicha I have heard they are not really good. they catch on things and choke if they get under something. the dog its on or another animal can get some of the substance on the feet while scratching itself or another licking parts that touched it. I have been giving coco a tablet once a month now that kills them

That is why I don't have pets. My daughter has three cats that are pretty healthy. Glad you finally have a place to live. I know how kids can be. The trick is not to help them out when they don't have money. They know mom will take care of it so they aren't worried.

@bunnybon7 ....Hide it and tell them you are at zero. You tell them you just don't have it enough hopefully they will stop asking.

@celticeagle the problem has been, if I get any money or anything from my account or I or I purchase anything other then online, my daughter has to go get that. I can't leave the house yet without assistance. I am getting some nurses etc. coming in now that might be able to help. we will see

Poor Coco. Pet treatments are so expensive here, are they pricey where you are too? So glad you finally found somewhere as you are not well enough to be going through all this stress and strain. Hugs Bon.

nope, they never seem to listen to someone older and wiser. in fact he said, "that cat don't have fleas. I can see if he did. had pets all my life and I know" I told him I had pets since years before he was even thought about and born. lol hes thirty one yrs. old.

I am so sorry for Coco, I hope she can get rid of those horrible fleas. You are right about the cat, if you take an animal you have to care for him.
