Doris found a penny,
A lucky penny,
Laying on the grass.
Doris picked up the penny,
The lucky penny,
A tiny bit of cash.
The wind was gusty
That November day.
Doris hat flew off her head.
Doris chased after her hat.
It was retrieved by a fellow named Ted.
Ted looked into Doris's eyes.
It was love at first sight,
If you believe.
Doris was enchanted by Ted's
Kindness and manners.
She was excited and relieved.
Ted asked Doris out on a date.
The rest is history.
The lucky penny played a big part
In unlocking love's mystery.
