We have named the almond sapling that sprung up in our garden, Charlie - thanks to Charlie the baby monkey who used to stroll in our garden munching something or the other. Probably he was muching a fresh almond plucked from some tree in the neighbourhood and he must have discarded the seed in our garden as we never had any almond saplings before. Charlie never visits us now but he has left behind memories - not to speak of the countless video clips I have on him. Do you have stories to share?

Our almond trees are different, this sapling does not look like an almond, the leaves are different.

This is a sapling of the almond tree which grows this part of the world. You are right your almond trees are different - a correct statement. (lol)

Cute monkey! No almond trees grow where I live, because it's too cold.

I do not have any story but last Saturday a monkey was roaming in our balcony and done much menace. I have planted a lemon grass, which was gifted by some one a day before and the monkey has taken that plant. Don't know what he has done with the same.

Sad to hear that. Luckily Charlie did not do any damage to the neighbourhood. He would just arrive early in the morning and roam around eating fruits from trees.

At the moment, this sapling doesn't look much like our almond trees. I wonder if it is a different variety. We don't have them here but there are several in my mother's garden.
