McCain has sided with big oil since this campaign started (having flip-flopped from his supposed prior position of siding with America), and has even voiced that he is practically counting on staying in office for only one term if he does get elected. I seriously do not believe it matters to McCain what happens to the middle and lower classes, so long as he can get into office just long enough to swing some economical events his own way. As Obama has strongly hinted to in his "foul play" cry, McCain is doing this for no other reason than to appeal to affected Americans, from whom he has the least support. He does not understand our situation, and could just as easily shrug his shoulders and say, "Oh, well," after knocking our economy off its last leg and kick-starting the second Great Depression. There is a reason why middle-to-lower-class Americans by and large throw in their lots with the Democrat when the economy is on the line...a good reason. It's convenient that McCain should be so "gung ho" on this issue now, seeing as how he started missing every single congressional vote after his campaign started. So now he wants to do his job? Why the sudden change of heart (again)? Obama has had our best interests in mind since the beginning, and only just started to put his debating face on because he was criticized for not doing so while McCain spent every waking hour hammering away at him. Make no mistake; McCain's TV announcement is nothing more than another campaign move. His goal is the presidency, not saving America.
