Now here in the Philippines and in other Asian countries, rice is a staple meal. People have rice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is common that fried rice is served even during snack time. For breakfast, the rice served is usually the leftover rice from the day before. Oil is heated in a frying pan and a couple cloves of garlic are crushed and fried. The rice is then placed and further cooked. I usually add some vegetables in my fried rice like mushrooms, green peas, and diced carrots. Other times I get more creative and add luncheon meat, sausages, or eggs. One time I added leftover shrimps and fish fillets for my own version of seafood fried rice. Do you like fried rice? Any other versions of fried rice out there? Care to share?

ooohh the picture looks yummy. I used to eat fried rice in the morning and sometimes I order them in a fastfood chain that serves fried rice. I like spicy fried rice with hotdogs and sausage. But now I only eat oats for breakfast.

I love the simple tomato fried rice made home style. I don't prefer the Chinese version.

@allen0187 Its just onions, green chillies and tomatoes, sauted and mashed well before adding turmeric powder, salt, coriander powder, chilly powder and finally rice. It tastes yummy even with left over food.

I love fried rice. I usually buy mixed vegetables (green peas, carrots, corn). I am also putting sliced hotdogs and scrambled eggs and then toasted garlic on top.

@allen0187 must be psychological. I'm extra sensitive when it comes to rice. My father was the same. We are the only ones in the family who are like that.

Yes, I like fried rice, my favorite is the Chinese fried rice. We eat rice for lunch or dinner, never for breakfast. I could not eat anything fried for breakfast.

I am not really a fan of fried rice. I prefer plain white rice most of the time. I might make some this week though just for something a little different.

We usually have it for breakfast when there's too much leftover rice from dinner. It is really nice to add vegetables and some seafood like your recipe.

I like all kinds of fried rice, from the most simple ones like garlic fried rice to the most festive ones like shang hai rice. Sadly I already quit eating rice and replaced it with Quinoa because I am trying body building. Quinoa sorta tasted like rice if cooked right but it has protein instead of carbs.

Hi Capt! Nice to see you here again! I limit my rice intake. I had tried quinoa and I actually like it. I had quinoa for my New Year's Eve feast.
