Is Happiness permanent ?

April 18, 2016 12:50pm CST
As i think about happiness.....i wonder whether it is state of mind which have to be achieved only once in lifetime & then it keeps one happy always. But as i see & observe in people ..happiness is a temporary feeling. At some point a person is happy because of any fact or feeling but that is not enough to keep him happy always.after some time this particular reason of happiness does not make him happy anymore(may be it still gives satisfaction).he needs new reason to celebrate And this process keeps going.

@Lokendrakvy It can last a little longer if we have inner peace. Inner peace is the key to lasting happiness.

Inner peace can make happiness lasts a longer time. If we aim for inner peace we may achieve perpetual happiness. Now that's philosophy.

Nothing in this world is consistent except time....happiness is surely a matter of chance...so live your happy moments because something terrible can happen at any time....i'm just providing reality..no offends

Happiness is contentment. As long as long one doesn't feel satisfied with some things anymore, they stop being happy.

The search for happiness is an ongoing pursuit. We will have our ups and downs. Interesting point you make because it is a a cycle of highs and lows. Happiness cannot be measured or captured in a bottle. It is a pleasant surprise.

Happiness is only an inexperienced's word for serenity, really. When does one feel "happy"? Only in times that are peaceful, for they signify an ample adequacy in life. The duration of happiness varies from people to people, and their perspectives about the events of life.

I agree. It seems to ebb and flow at least from my experience.

It is easy to be happy as a child. As an adult... you have to work a little harder!! At that point, it's up to you.
