Random Word Post – superpatriot

I find a random word by flipping through my 2003 The New Webster’s Concise Dictionary and write a quick – often silly – little post about it. # “superpatriot – A person who is or claims to be a great patriot, often one whose patriotic fervor is marked by a readiness to regard dissent as unpatriotic or subversive.” Sadly, it seems that’s becoming just the definition of patriot.

Sadly, the superpatriot is a perishing species.

I have serious reservations about whether that actually constitutes an independent word as opposed to two distinct words. At best I would be inclined to suspect that it should be hyphenated.
