Good day mylotters!!! Hope everyone is fine today. April 24 here in Manila, almost 8:40 am. It is a light day at work so I'm taking it easy. Not that anything is ever easy around here but you get my drift. For breakfast, I decided to have a classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Three slices of wheat bread, two tablespoons each of peanut butter and strawberry jam, some pickles, and a dash of hot sauce. Toast the sandwich on a pan or in a conventional oven until sides are browned and boom!!! Presenting, breakfast perfection!!! Nothing like a breakfast classic with a little twist. Anyway, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches remind me of the Amazing Mumford, the fantastic magician from Sesame Street. Do people still eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? Also, what food reminds you of Sesame Street characters? In fact what food reminds you of any left of center things? Couldn't find a photo of The Amazing Mumford so decided to stick with Elmo, Cookie Monster, Honker, and Grover

Oh, I like Elmo! I used to see him too, through a neighbor's tv. But I did not know that peanut butter was part of his life on Sesame street. BTW, I liked jelly spread too when I was younger. But when I aged 40, not anymore. My Internist said it might introduce diabetes in my system.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwich was actually a part of the magic spell/magic words of The Amazing Mumford.

@allen0187 Oh! Didn't know that. Maybe because I did not watch Sesame Street from start to end as I just did it through our guava tree which was then overlooking a neighbor's sala, where their tv was. Got afraid of falling from the tree that's why.

This was a totally foreign breakfast to me as a child. 'Jelly' to us is a flavoured gelatine dessert. We call the US jelly 'jam' so to have a jelly sandwich seemed really weird.

I love peanut butter, but we can't have it in the house because my girlfriend is very allergic to peanuts.

@allen0187 - she's really sensitive to them. By the way, Amazing Mumford rules.
