I Want to Lose Weight, Yet I Don't Want to Lose Weight

That's really what it's about. The title says it all. I have been wanting to lose several pounds for a little over a year now. I dropped ten pounds recently, and in no time I added them back up. I want to lose the weight, but I'm not committed to losing the weight. I want to drop pounds, but that second helping sounds so good. Sigh. I really need to get focused here. Is anyone else struggling with losing weight?

Losing it is the easy part, keeping it off quite another. Welcome to mylot, I was just thinking about you a couple of days ago and wondering if you would find your way here and it seems you have. Lots of old Bubblews friends are here,

It's so nice to see you here. I have noticed a few bubblers here. I'm still trying to navigate my way around and trying to find what everyone is blogging about. I'm not having much luck. I see recent activity, but not their own discussions. :)

Dieting requires commitment and focus. I think that's why I usually fail. I know how you feel.

@pinkCardigangirl I'm going to take a stab at it again. I've gained six pounds over the winter. I need to lose that and another 50.

It really does. Sigh. It can be so hard when the mind isn't set to do it. I'm sorry I didn't see you commented until now. I guess I'm still learning my way on here. :)

I was exercising like mad and cutting back on what I ate but I was still carrying a few extra pounds. We acquired a dog (long story!) and within a couple of months lost about 7lbs. So there you go. Simple. Get a dog, if you haven't already got one. Oh, and walk him 3 times a day. I think that last bit might be the important part!! And welcome to myLot from another ex Bubbler!!!

@pinkCardigangirl If he's anything like my cats then he undoubtedly will be setting a terrible example.

Oh yay! Another bubbling friend! It's so nice to see you! We don't have a dog. We do have a cat. Maybe he's setting the wrong example for me. ha ha.

I lose weight since I was working hard, and before I was 86 kilos, now I am 65 kilos. I lose my big belly and what I have now are muscles and lesser fats. No exercises but I walk always.

I understand how you feel! I have depression so I get very unmotivated on trying to do various things. Losing weight is one of them! I hate going clothes shopping because I hate when the clothes that look awesome on the rack don't look good on me. Just frustrating. I hope you get into the habit of dieting and exercising so it makes you feel good for accomplishing it. I need to do the same.

@pinkCardigangirl I'm sorry about the depression. It's a very hard thing to deal with. I hope you can too! It can be a bit of a difficult thing to break an old habit and moving into a new one. haha yeah I get so damn frustrated! Almost have a tantrum in the change room lol

Oh I understand depression too. :( It's so hard to get anything done when you're fighting depression. Hopefully I'll get myself focused soon. I feel the same way about the clothes on the rack! They look cute, but when you try them on...ummmm...not so cute. lol :)

Ahh well the title is a bit confusing. Sounds like you want to lose the weight but don't want to work at it or don't have the motivation. I don't need to lose any weight but I have no motivation to exercise which everyone needs for a healthy body and heart.

You know if you diet the right way you can eat a lot of food. It's a matter of what you're putting in your mouth not how much. Oh and fat doesn't make you fat, sugar does.

That's my problem right there! Sugar! I can't have it in the house or I go crazy. I will just binge on chocolates and sweets! When I was young I rarely ate candy. Now that I'm older, I need something sweet. But I don't buy it so I won't eat it. And I'm sorry for not seeing your comment until right now. I guess I'm still figuring things out. :)

Hi, there was a time when i was struggling in GAINING weight. Yes that was my problem because I seem to lose weight faster than other people. I talked to my cousin about that and he happens to be a doctor and he told me i should discipline myself to to sleep at least 8 hours. Eat my meals at exactly the same time everyday and eat healthy snacks in between almost the same time everyday. In a matter of one month I gained 2kg. He told me it's the same with gaining weight. You have to be disciplined and you have to be consistent. Good luck!

I've read that not getting enough sleep can contribute to gaining weight too. But you're right. I have to be consistent and eat healthier. Sorry I didn't see this post sooner. I didn't know you commented until I just saw it right now. :)
