~Some People Give Us Christians A Bad Name~

Yes I am a Christian-as most of you already know about me. I will not put you down for your beliefs. I will not judge you for what you do because that is not my job-there is only one judge. I will love you regardless of what you do. I AM A HYPOCRITE. Yes, all Christians are. Do you want to know why? Because we are not perfect and we shouldn't pretend to be. If you see me fail to act like Christ then your confused by what being a Christian means-BUT I do try my hardest to be Christ like. I don't think I am better than you-FAR FROM IT. I am full of love, but sometimes I am quick to get angry and I am sorry for that. Sometimes I am ungrateful-until the Lord shows me I am being ungrateful-then I change my thinking. Being Christ like is what being a Christian is all about-Love, Forgiveness, Kindness, Patience, Helpful...Are any of these things bad in your opinion? Anyone who claims to be a Christian and time after time shows hatred or thinking they are better than everyone else-might not be as close to the Lord as they claim...

we are Christians , we still commit sins, stumble and fall because God is still working in us and he is not finished yet, and when we die, that is the time God is finished working in us

You said it sister. I am an atheist and an agnostic but, I respect Christians and what they have to say. I just move on when it gets too deep or I am afraid I might say something and open a can of worms. Ugh! Haters won't go very far. Sad they are.

@celticeagle Thanks. Yeah, we can all respect each other and our own beliefs without being mean. And we all need to remember that nobody is perfect. We all just try our best, and love one another.

I can see who is Christian and who´s not by the look of their faces and their lifestyle. It´s true Christians are not perfect; however, they are in a constant struggle to live in a Christian way more than the regular person is.

@quantum2020 Well maybe not by someone's face because everyone has a bad day and were not always smiling and joyful every day. But your right no one is perfect and we do all constantly struggle to be better than the day before.

As the song goes, "I'm just a sinner, saved by grace..." I try but sometimes I do find myself feeling superior or angry when I shouldn't be. The only difference between me and someone who doesn't know Christ is just that... I know Christ. He is working in me and I have come a long way, but I have a long way to go. If we could only be honest with the world at large. We ARE sinners, saved only by grace, and nothing within us is good, except for the Spirit of God. Extricating ourselves from the fallen world we live in is beyond our capabilities. Only Jesus can do that, and then He will only do that if we allow Him.

@peavey We all fall short but we all can be forgiven for it and we should all try to be a better witness to those who don't know Jesus as their Savior.

Very well said, as we are expected to show love and kindness to others, but at the same time, we have to keep our attitudes in check. I will admit that I do get angry, and I have to ask thevLord to help me with my anger. I know it is a sin to get angry, so I want to make sure I don't get angry.

@LovingMyBabies I do worry too, and I tell the Lord to take the worry away, as I just don't want to worry about things. It just leads hearbreak, and we go through life sad all the time. I certainly don't want to be sad all the time. I also struggle, and I put my stuggles in God's hands, and let him take care of them, and he will. There is nothing that is impossible for God.

@rosekiss And worrying is doubting God's ability so I try to remember that when I start to worry. I know we should not take things on our shoulders when God can do it all. =)

When somebody asks me if i'm a Christian, I immediately answer this: I claim to be. Why? Because I believe in God and I believe in the bible but I can't act like Christ. I don't want to make being human as an excuse to make mistakes. So yes, I'm not a full Christian but I claim to be one.

It's a shame more Christians weren't like you but there are a great many who are what I call 'Sunday Christians' - all goodness and light for one day of the week; very ordinary people - or worse - the rest of the time.

Oh Gosh! You just said what I have been thinking for last couple of days. And yesterday only, I told Valerie that when you and her talk about Holy Bible or even Jesus, both of you give good vibes, positivity. You never impose your beliefs on someone, never arrogant or superior about your religion. I like that about you both. You rightly said that some people just bring bad names to their religions (whichever it might be). They claim being true to their religion. In reality they aren't. Not even close. You know this last Sunday only, I came upon many posts about religion. I was so upset reading all those comments and responses. I didn't participate. I talked to admin though. I mean when you are clearly holding resentment towards a particular religion in your heart. When you don't consider and respect others religion or beliefs. When you talk down on people. Can I really believe that they are true to their religion? True to their God? I am not an expert in this matter. Far from it actually. I see myself as a student who hasn't even begin the learning process. I always have and still associate God with everything good. Everything positive. But harbouring such negativity and claiming that they are closer to God? Doesn't make sense to me.

@Daljinder I completely agree with everything you said here. People should not put others down or make them feel less than for any reason-that is not what God is about at all. Thank you for the compliment, I try to be Christ like-who is all about love and kindness.

@LovingMyBabies LOL You know what I think? In their haste to become close to God, they had forgotten the essence of God and their religion. Love and kindness is to all is what He taught us. And that is the first thing we forgot.

I agree, if we don't have love for each other then our professed love for Christ is null and void.

I am a sinner saved by the grace of God. God is Love, and does not wish anyone to perish but to come to his saving Grace...But their is one thing that God hates and will not tolerate, God will not even look upon it. and that is sin..... God tells us to Hate Sin, to repent for our sin. To turn from sin. If you Love a person that you know is living in Sin.....What do you do.....What does God wish for you to do? If you truly Love that person you would do everything in your power to help that person understand their sin, and to help them understand that God loves them, and will forgive them. Why would you let that person burn in Hell when you could try to help them... When you do not speak out about something that you know is a sin..All you are doing is saying that you agree with it.. When you tolerate some one that is living in sin, and you do nothing...All you are doing is hurting that person, and you are also Hurting God. No body is better than anyone else. Abortion is wrong, Homosexuality is wrong...Homosexual marriage is wrong... and their is many other things in this world is wrong. and what i do not understand is why so called Christians are not standing up with God and saying something about it....Why do so called Christians Hate these people so much that they are willing to let them burn in hell for their sins , and do nothing, Christians should stand and speak out about these abominations and stop tolerating these sins in this world. and stop letting evil say it is wrong or hateful to speak the word of God. and to spread the good news of Gods Love.

@LovingMyBabies But if you love the sinner you should speak out about the sin...and yes all sin is equal..Yes God will judge all of us...Pointing out Sin is not Judging anyone....Pointing out sin is loving some one enough to try to keep them from burning in Hell.. Jesus stated, “ Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment ” ( John 7:24 ). Notice the Lord's command to judge. But before we make that judgment, we must make sure we are judging righteously from God's Word and not relying on our own opinion. Do you believe God wants us to be tolerant of Sin, when he is not..God loves all of us the same, but as you know that if you die in your sin you will go to Hell..

God says hate the sin-love the sinner. That is what I try my best to do. Also, God says ALL sin is equal. That means the little lie you told today is just as bad as the woman who had the abortion-or the gay couple down the street. It is not our place to judge-it is God's. Yes we can help when people are down and help them find the Lord, but we should also show them love like Jesus did for all.

I am not a christian but I do try to hold the same values as you. Unfortunately I think that peoples interpretation of those values can be different to what you intended. Plus I think most people are selfish, not altruistic, so conflict happens because of this.

Love, Forgiveness, Kindness, Patience, Helpful.. --- You don't have to be a Christian to practice all this.

Ya lord will forgive us even if we make millions of mistakes. He will not look at our mistakes but he will look at our eagerness and willingness to learn, change, transform and grow. Good luck on your journey.
