Men Need To Carry A Hand Bag!

I got so upset last night, I nearly had a melt down at midnight! I had been doing laundry for hours. My son came home from College and I had done my husband's and my laundry and my son had some dirty clothes. So, it was his last load that I was going to do for the day. I started doing it around 10 pm. I have told my son and husband to always take things out of their pockets. I also check pockets. But, because the load was big and I forgot to check my son's jeans pocket, an ink pen went through the wash cycle. But, it didn't do any damage in the wash load. It was when it went through the dryer cycle that damage was done! Yes, it ruined some of his lighter clothes. But that is not what angered me so much. It was the fact that ink hit the dryer walls in a hit and miss fashion!! It looked like an abstract painting on the dryer drum wall!! I got so upset!! My husband said I over reacted. He said to take an old towel and put it through a dryer cycle run to see if the towel would pick up any ink. So, I got an old light beige towel and put it through the dryer cycle and luckily this morning when I checked it, the towel was clean. So, the ink got baked into the enamel of the dryer drum. Now I have a psychedelic inside of the dryer! I still am ticked by it but I have calmed down. My son said that he had put the pen in his pants pocket after taking a test in his college class. I thought (but didn't say), men should carry hand bags like women. That way they would always have something to put their belongings in. That would keep the pens out of the pant's pockets and put into the hand bag. A guy could find a nice manly type of bag to carry that doesn't look so feminine.

I actually now carry a knapsack all the time because of having to carry my phone and Ipad and something to read and so on. It is very fashionable and my hands are free.

My boyfriend wouldn't carry a man bag, maybe a backpack but not at all times. It'd be nice if they (men) remembers to clear their pockets though!

I can understand your annoyance, but at least it was only your son's clothes that were ruined.

My husband carries a messenger bag, to keep pens, and his medications in. I used to think it was silly, but now after reading your post. It makes me feel better now that he does have one. It causes less damage that way. I'm sure he gets some weird looks at the store. But it's better to be prepared.

They tried making men's purse's years ago and not many were sold. A friend of mine bought one to use has a camera bag to hold his cameras.

Sorry about the damage to your son's clothes, but at least the dryer wasn't ruined! I'm my hubby's handbag. I carry his reading glasses. Other than that, he's on his own! None of the men in my life would ever carry a man bag! Lol!

I do also end up carrying my husband's wallet or glasses in my pocket book sometimes when we are out and about together.

I am a woman and I still used to put a pen in my jeans pocket. Never liked to carry a handbag.

When I go off on my expeditions to London, I always carry a 'manbag', for cameras, maps, book, water and lunch. I have to say that I treat my pens with a lot more care!

Does he not have a book or computer bag, or were they not allowed in the exam area?

Yes, he does have a back pack he keeps textbooks in. I am not sure if he had the bag with him or not during this particular class.

I think so too! Men should carry bags, not just to avoid the problem that you said, but also because not everything fits in a pocket. It will help them in carrying the things they need.

Oh no. Boys love putting pens in their pockets. They refuse to take things out of their pockets. That sort of thing can be irritating. Hopefully they'll remember to remove the items out of their pockets the next time.

Many men do carry 'bags' but then they get laughed at. The worst I've done was wash a red sweater with white socks.

@LeaPea2417 the worst thing that my hubby's son ever left in his pockets and that later got washed was his passport. That was years ago though.
