I was resolved to continue working to the limits here on Mylot, today; however, I can hardly type a complete word with this keyboard, since the keys are sticky. They have given me computers with sticky keys before here at the library, but not one like the one I got today. I feel like going to the store and buy some oil (vegetable, car) and pour some over the sticky keys, so the stickiness disappears I will try to just look at my typing without staring at the display of the computer, so more concentration is put on the keys and their performance, and see if this works. Have you had to deal with sticky keys?

@kevin1877uk A good cleaning and dusting to the keys is necessary from time to time!

Still a sticky key! Hope you don't have to deal with all keys in your keyboard; it is awful!

Yeah, It´s good advice to keep them clean at all times, so one does not have to deal with sticky keys, which may result frustrating when one is trying to write something.

I guess many of us has gone through this problem before. I will get another one, I just hope they can give me one with no sticky keys.

I did not have that problem at the library when I used their computers, but on my own computer which comes with something to stop sticky keys and when it does happens the computer takes care of the issue. I really do not understand how to explain but it sure does help.

It´s only on some computers. Not all of them have the same problem. I think, the cleaning personal sometimes don´t clean the keyboards thoughtfully.

Can you ask the librarian if they have any kind of wipes for the computer because it's sticky? Sounds like the person before you was inconsiderate of how he worked on the computer. It should be a requirement of the library to make certain the computers are always in good shape and the person using it is required to keep it that way.

They should and I should go and check about it. I hope someone from the cleaning service can come and give a good wipe at this computer and others, as well.

I have in the past. The computer I have now at home, the problem isn't as much of a sticky key problem as the keys not working or in my case I'm missing the letter "N" and there's no key there so it's quite aggravating to type.

I haven't found a keyboard with missing keys here, yet! It should be just as terrible not been able to type your own name because the key to the first letter of your name is missing!

@quantum2020 This is exactly why I'm buying myself a new computer. I can't type well without the keys I need.

That is something that they don't do here at the library for what I'm experiencing today and have in the past!

Specially the old ones. A good wiping can finish those sticky keys.

Thankfully, there was no instance that I have to deal with sticky keys. I hope the computers they'll give to you tomorrow have better keyboards.
