Auto complete and autocorrect can be a real nuisance.

It is vey rare for me to use my tablet for internet access because I have a laptop. However, the tablet can prove useful on some occasions.
Last night I was watching the snooker on television, which was rather slow in some parts, so I spent a little time at Mylot on my tablet as well. This morning I came across several quite blatant and absurd errors in what I had posted.
Annoyingly these were caused by the tablet itself, which always wants to auto complete a word for me or correct whatever I have typed.
I have seen words change as soon as the curser moves away and have retyped the same word several times on occasions before managing to persuade the tablet to accept what I wrote. Obviously I cannot be the only person to experience this.
Do you have the same problem and how do you deal with it?

Yes, and with humor. My sister and I instant message each evening. We have named the auto-fill and auto-correct feature Otto. We routinely make fun of his errors.

@ElizabethWallace The show has an excellent collection of characters, which is the main aspect of it.

@Asylum Gosh I love that show. I will certainly miss Dinozzo. Hope they send him to live with Ziva.

Man I really hate the auto correct!! Mine is turned off because it always tries to have me saying something completely opposite of something that I was trying to say in the beginning! They can get you a good laugh between friends but that is about all it is useful for!

@crazzydolphin I have not checked the options yet, but switching it off is favourite.

@Asylum Have you tried just turning it off by chance? I mean I will admit that it does come in handy when you are writing some important things and not sure how to spell some words but it could really mess you up if you are not paying close attention to what you are doing. When my computer messed up and I was using our Kindle at the time I found to never use my Kindle when I was to tired because the next day I would fine a million and one mistakes

@allknowing This is certainly true for me with Android because I am more accustomed to Windows or Linux.

@Asylum Most of us do not optimise the features that are there in our gadgets.

No i don't have the same problem. My phone and iPad seems to know what's on my mind and they do type exactly what I have in mind. These gadgets adjust to the users.

@changjiangzhibin89 Maybe the system does not apply to whichever model you have.

I mainly write on my computer but on occasion write on the tablet and it is very annoying. As for predictive texting my friend insists on using it much to my horror. Some of the messages are just gobbledygook.
