Springtime Tomatoes

This evening I was checking out the plants as Tony was feeding them and this is what I seen in the middle of all the blooming tomatoes. Babies :) I sowed the seeds for the plants in January so I would have an early crop, within the next few days I will sow more seed for a late crop. Yes I can get two each season. How is your garden growing?

It looks good. What else do you have in your garden? When i was a kid my grandmother used to roast fresh tomatoes from her garden for me. I miss summer vacations as they used to be back then.

I have a few lovely big tomatoes still on the vine but I'm not sure if they'll ripen because it's coming into winter.

Pick them, wrap each in newspaper and store in a cool place and when you want one unwrap and let it sit on a sunny windowsill.

The tomato plants have flowers now, it's too early here in Switzerland to see green tomatoes.

@andriaperry Yes, I saw seeds in the greenhouse in late February, they are usually ready for pick up from the beginning of July.

We actually have three growing seasons - spring, summer and fall - we usually have lettuce well into October. We have a ton of blooms and tiny tiny tomatoes.

I have a tomato plant that has self seeded into a pot and is determined to fruit this late in the year. i may try and put it under cover to see if it will ripen. I've just put some sugar snap peas in for winter.

@andriaperry I made the mistake of planting some in summer and it was too hot. I'm hoping that this lot will grow and crop better.

When I was young we had tomatoes in our garden and whenever i see them bear fruit I was extremely happy and would tell my mom about it. We don't have it now. But that tomato is looking good.

It's nice to grow your own tomatoes. I will be visiting my garden soon as it is not here where I am. I hope my garden is still ok. It's taken care by my relatives.

I have to transfer my tomatoes to bigger pots. They will do so much better once I get them in a pot where they can stretch their legs. Planted green and yellow beans out in the garden bed tonight. It rained enough to water the bed so it will give them a little start. Have to get the other plants out in the bed soon.

Those will be real beauties once they are done growing. We only have a small herb garden and they aren't doing so well. I am not sure how well they are doing as I am not the gardener in the family. I'd probably kill the poor things.
