Fell downstairs again.

So, yesterday I have a bath and stupidly decide I need to go downstairs before I am dry. I fell from the top to the bottom of the stairs. The lawn mower was at the bottom of the stairs as I need to sort out the lobby and all the coats that fell down. The lawnmower fell on me and narrowly missed the Freya the Catblog Cat. So did the folding armchair. The doctor said to call an ambulance. Great drivers but the poor things had been given a rickety and squeaky old thing to drive. They took me in on a stretcher and onto a bed in "minors." I was so bruised I was grateful to kerp lying down. My left hand is out of action. I woke up the nerve damage from the last fall. My left index finger is very bruised but thankfully not broken. My right hip is bruised and all sorts of other bruises are surfacing but thankfully nothing got broken. I have strong pain meds. Everything us hazy. I'm resting up today. Freya the Catblog Cat is kindly keeping me company. Memo to self. Do not come downstairs in a bath robe with wet feet. It is embarrasing to need an ambulance when you are practically naked!

No. They said there is some bone in the tip of my index finger that may be fractured, but that they would not do anything about that anyway. The rest is thankfully just bad bruising.

The way you described this it sounds like the lawnmower was in the house..I am assuming those were outside steps? Wow, that was quite a fall.

No, the lawn mower was in the living room so I could tidy the foyer where it lives!

What was the lawn mower doing inside the house I am wondering? You are lucky you could call for an ambulance. Glad you have no broken bones.

Long story. I live in a tiny house. I usually keep the lawn mower on the foyer, but things fell down and I moved the lawnmower into the living room so I could tidy up.

Ouch. That has to hurt. You have to be more careful. I know, we all think we can do something and that is when these things happen. Out of the blue. I hope you heal quickly. Rest.

I am pretty sure there is an explanation for both. They are sending me to a falls clinic though.

Hmm I have a note like that - don't run downstairs in socks as they slip. Hate it when you bruise your tailbone.
