Rumours Of My Demise Are Greatly Exaggerated!!

It was with great consternation I noted that my last meaningful (is anything I do ever really meaningful?) contribution to myLot was 13 days ago.
It doesn't seem that long. But, when life throws up challenges that can't be ignored, time can indeed grip you slyly in its spell (thanks Moz!). That makes the reason for my absence sound rather more dramatic than it actually was. Stuff needed to be dealt with. Nothing major nor life-threatening but very time consuming.
Upon noticing the length of my absence from here I was initially worried that during my sabbatical I never once felt an irresistible urge to log in. No withdrawal symptoms. Did this mean I'd fallen out of love with the place? Of course not!
Like any good relationship it is much better being involved because you want to be, not because you need to be!
Although that doesn't always mean you can be!
Hope you've all been keeping well.

I have an on and off "relationship" with Mylot eversince I became a member here for several reasons. We even temporarily "divorced" for sometime when Mylot stopped giving "finacial support" but still like a bird I always come back to my nest and thats Mylot.

You're still doing better than I am. I was AWOL for several months.

This is what I've missed. A good ego massage!
But seriously. Thanks for the welcome back. Not sure how much time I'm going to get over the next few weeks but I feel I need to make the effort. It's actually quite therapeutic this place!!

Life does get in the way sometimes, but I figure this is often a good thing. I know that people also go off for unpleasant reasons, illness, etc., but I would rather think they are out having fun.

@ElizabethWallace It didn't feel fabulous at the time when I was bogged down with stuff I had to sort out. But hindsight does cast a different light on events.
There can be a world of difference between learning things and putting them into effect. I'm an expert in procrastination. I know I should do something but it can always wait, or so I think. Don't fall into the same trap I usually do. Carpe Diem as they (used to) say!!

@WorDazza That's fabulous. I learned a few things too. Now I just have to put them into effect.

I haven't been here for months and had so few withdrawal symptoms that I, erm, forgot MyLot existed - must try harder!

Real life and reality is not the online world. They take precedence.

Completely agree with the last few sentences of this post. Plus, it's nice to see you. Has it really been two weeks? It seems so much longer. :)
