Glad I went..

Saturday was the High School Theater Awards. I wasn't sure I wanted to go. My son had such a small part in the musical this year, he was not up for any awards himself although the show as a whole was nominated for 9 awards. In the end I decided to go, and I am so glad I did! We did not win best stage crew, although that is the award we won last year. We also didn't win best director and the kids were a little bummed about that. But we did win 4 awards. Best supporting actress, best supporting actor, best lead actor, and best overall performance! Oh the excitement! I was literally jumping up and down when they announced we'd won best overall performance! And my son went up on stage with the rest of the cast and crew to accept their award... it was held at the same theater where we saw Phantom of the Opera a couple months ago, so my son stood on that same stage for a moment and he was really excited! When was the last time you almost didn't do something that ended up being so much fun?

@crazyhorseladycx He is absolutely passionate about it... at the moment. 2 years ago he was passionate about Marching Band, and although he is still involved in band and still enjoys it, he has found that he loves theater more. So it's possible within a few years he'll find something he loves even more than that!

That's great! They must have been so (deservedly) proud. Last year I almost didn't go to my dad's family's reunion. Each year about sixty of us get together at a lake resort (sounds nicer than it is). I'm glad I went because it turned out to be fun.

I frequently debate not going to certain things.. then end up having fun when I do go.

That must have been a proud moment for you and your son! Congratulations on the wins!!! Last time, I felt like I didn't want to train in mma but the gym where I train invited a couple of mma fighters and trainers from affiliate gyms based in Macau and China and it was a blast training with them. I felt I learned more in that three hour session compared to all of my previous training the past month or so.
