I'm Almost Smiling

Today was my trip to Milwaukee to get my dentures. This is a two hour trip, so round trip plus the office visit was around five hours.
Usually I'm in the chair for no more than fifteen minutes tops. Not today. Today took a bit longer as the bottom partial didn't fit right and they tried to get it to fit by working with my bottom teeth and the partial. The verdict - it's going back to the lab. I have another appointment in two weeks to get them, and I hope they fit. Yes, I'm disappointed that I don't have both plates, but I also want them to fit right.
Some of you wanted to know what my first meal would be. Seeing I only have the upper plate, and the fact I need to get used to it, I can tell you it wasn't steak or corn on the cob, or an apple either. It was a McDonald's double cheeseburger as we stopped shortly after we left the office and made our way home.
I got home by 5:30, plugged in my phone to get it charged as I ran out of battery on the way home, and was right out the door for Writer's Guild.
It was a good meeting, and maybe one of these times I will actually get to read what I've written. I'm looking for feedback on one of my stories I've written. It's a science fiction novel, not finished yet, but getting there. As with everything else I have in the works, it has a long ways to go before it's finished.
So that was my day. How was your day?
Thanks for reading.
The picture is the woman who drove me down these last three times.

Sometimes it takes a few visits to get them just right. My son has an upper partial that he recently had fitted and was sent home with about 3 weeks ago. Now he needs an adjustment to them. He isn't happy, but it is necessary.

@just4him I know you are disappointed. But then it is better this way than getting both of them fitted and going back to correct
the bottom partial.Did you like the cheeseburger?

It was a long day, but not a tiring one. I had computer issues last night.

@Jessicalynnt I've heard the horror stories about dentures that don't fit.

Good luck with the poetry. I've been trying to write a poem, but when there's nothing there, I can't do it, and there's nothing there no matter how hard I try to get it to work.

I know you're right. After having the upper plate for a day now, I'm going to be asking him questions about the upper plate. The teeth are so small, I can't even see them when I smile. I know my own teeth we longer than those are. As for Truduy - we're like two peas in a pod. She's just as crazy as I am, or I'm as crazy as she is. I know the world isn't ready for two of us, but hey, she's great!

I'm sorry you have to wait longer but at least it's only for a couple weeks and not months!
