Well, that's it, Trump...you're toast!

Now that Hillary was declared presumptive nominee of the Democrat Party, I could be wrong, but, I'll make a prediction... I believe that, once Sanders gives up, and she becomes the sure nominee, Hillary will win the Presidency hands-down in November. This country has a thing about 'mob mentality' and 'driving an agenda', and many voters will give up their own interest or the good of the country to accomplish a goal. This time, the goal is to elect the first female President in the history of the U.S. Hillary will become President for being a woman in the same way that Obama became President for being a Black man. Let's see what happens...

Obama was elected because he was the best person for the job out of everyone that was running. Were there some people that voted for him just because he was black. Yes. Will some people vote for Hilary because she is a women, Yes. Overall the majority of the people are going to go who they think is best to run the country. That happens every election though. Most democrats will not vote for a republican even if the republican is better fit to do the job over the democrat and vise versa. That is why usually independents decide elections.

Just I am sure that you are right about some people voting for Obama and Clinton due to their race and gender, I am sure that there are people voting against them for exactly the same reasons. I heard a lot of racist comments when Obama ran the first time ... surprisingly not as many when he ran the second time ... and I am sure I will hear a lot of sexist comments with Clinton running.

I wouldn't mind seeing either Hillary or Bernie. But it does look like Hillary is it. And what would be real awesome is if Hillary took Bernie as her running mate. That is a no lose ticket.

@Wordly1 I will. I hope she wins. I think actually Trump is digging himself deeper and deeper. So, his chances of winning are becoming slim.

It is still too early to say. Most voters will not give up their own interest for the sake of the country because most voters care about their jobs and money. If they think that Trump can bring the jobs back, and give them a better salary, then they will vote for him.

It's not that they give up on their own interest, but, that they forget about it to push an agenda. Time will tell.

If Obama was only elected because he was a black man, then why was he elected for a second term? I think that you are trying to simplify this way too much not to mention not giving Obama and Hilary enough credit for being able to win on their own merit. Then again, who they are running against is also a factor.

While I respect your opinion, Purplealabaster, I still stand on my statement. Obama was elected twice, but, the second time, with a much smaller margin. Republicans, at the time, had lied to their constituents and had a poor choice of candidates; not to mention that the able-bodied layabout in this country will vote for whoever will keep the 'freebies' coming every month. I had hope for the 'business man' at the beginning, but, with his petulant childish behavior and his'undecipherable platform', no sane person could trust this man with the responsibility of running, of all things, the U.S. Government.

Does it seem rather a sad state if voters don't vote on what direction they want their country to go but rather on things like that?

@Wordly1 To be honest, I think you guys need someone to bring the whole country together. But I guess that is the same for every country. In somethings maybe we do.

I think Hillary will win too. But my fiance wouldn't like that. He wants Trump to win.

What a fickle and irrational electorate. To choose a leader not because of their capabilities and leadership qualities but simply because of their gender and race.
