Tomorrow is today

I cut short my stay here in Mylot today when I went to the car wash shop at past 4PM to have our car washed, vacuumed and the seat covers changed. When I arrived at the shop I had to wait a little while because they were still servicing another car. Since it was getting late, I decided to do away with the car wash and opted only to have the interior of the car vacuumed and the seat covers changed. From the car wash shop, I proceeded to the self-service laundry shop to have the soiled seat covers washed. My mother-in-law's house was just across the street from the shop so my wife (she goes to her mother every afternoon) came over to the shop to wait for me as she had asked me that we would take our dinner at the mall because she was buying a barrel bolt for her mother. My seat covers were just loaded on the washing machines (I had 3 loads in all) about 10 minutes earlier when my phone rang. It was my co-member (an engineer) of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on the other line who asked if I was coming to the TWG meeting tonight. I told him that our meeting was still tomorrow but he answered that all the rest of the group were already there except me. He called me up because the treasurer was curious why I was late and told the group that there must be something wrong because I was never late in meetings. In fact, I always came 30 minutes before or earlier during meetings. We found out that the culprit was the text message sent by the secretary at 11:42 PM last night which I only read at past 4 this morning on my way to the ovals for my morning walk. The message read as "We're having our TWG meeting at 6PM tomorrow, Sir. Is it okay with you?" I then replied that it was okay with me, thinking that the meeting would be tomorrow, Friday. However, since the message was sent last night, it meant that tomorrow is today LOL!

@brokenbee Yes, They have just began for a short while when I arrived because they had dinner first before starting with the meeting. Had they started on time, I would have missed the discussions by about an hour. Our meeting tonight was an important one because it was about the hotel that we're putting up costing over a hundred million.

oops, she should have included the day since she sent it so late and very close to midnight just to be sure... this kind of mistake is what I'm so scared to happen whenever I need to catch a red-eye or very early morning flight... anyway, I hope the misunderstanding didn't put you in any trouble...

My co-members of the group were considerate my friend. In fact, I told the engineer that they proceed with the meeting without me but when he passed on the phone to the Chairman, he insisted that they'd wait for me even if I arrived an hour later as my laundry would be finished in 1 hour and 10 minutes. They never hold meetings without me and the engineer even though I insisted on many occasions that they go ahead without me when there were conflicts with my schedule.

@sishy7 That's one thing that I think is only a perception, my friend, because there are many other better members of our cooperative.

@sunrisefan well, if it is a case of miscommunication, then you have a valid reason why you came in late.

@ridingbet Indeed there was. Besides, I told them to proceed with the meeting without me but they insisted on having me attend even if they had to wait. Can't leave my car seats behind too because I've just loaded them into the washing machines. We'll be having another meeting this Sunday afternoon because we have to hurry our hotel project in time for our 50th anniversary in 2018.

I have a vacuum cleaner but it's not as powerful as the one they have in the shop. I washed the car myself this morning though.

Understably. People always joked about Bohol being another republic. The secretary texted me while she was in Bohol attending a seminar LOL!
