I know and I'm sorry. I know how you all look forward to be griping about my stupid job and how much I hate it... It's just... I haven't exactly hated it here lately.. I mean I haven't LOVED it but I haven't hated it either. Don't worry though, that's changing. Your ears will soon be bleeding from how much you hear me griping about it. The guy that breaks down the truck? I know I told you guys he was leaving... well his last day is Monday. The manager of the store keeps asking me about full time and I am on the fence about it. I've told them loud and clear I will NEVER be able to throw as many cases as the guy who's leaving could... But y'know, I think I still might apply for full time... My responsibilities will change, I'll be breaking the truck down.. The days I have to work will change as well. I feel like I could write two discussions on all that there is to say on this. Let's see... A new part timer has come in, they offered him the full time (no chunk off my cheese) but now they aren't offering it anymore? I'm not sure if they've rescinded it so much as they just haven't discussed it with him more? I know why. He wants more money for it, and they don't want to give it... but oh god ol' Amber won't ask for a raise, no sir re how... Or atleast that's what they think... I mean, I think that's just part of it. I think they are also relunctant to give it to someone who hasn't been with the store long. He was with the company before, but not in this department... Anyhow, that's what's been up in the work force lately. Oh and I was supposed to have tonight (Saturday) off but the other part timer had to go and get his foot cut so Amber to the rescue (again). Honestly? If it were me? I'd have put some neosporin on the foot, bandaged it up, put two pairs of socks on and took my happy butt to work either way.. But obviously it wasn't me that cut my foot...

Things have been going about the same for me. There's one particular person I work with that I dread working with so much that it's really made me start hating the job completely.... but then they go and give me more responsibility and more training, which shows me that I'm valuable and important (and the other guy doesn't get this kind of training) so suddenly I'm appeased again for awhile!

That's how it is where I work. They praise me just enough so that I feel alright. It irks me that they don't fix things... I don't even think this new part timer is going to last very long. We are supposed to get more people in but they never ever last. Even the other full timer who is still there? He's going to be leaving before we know it... We don't know when, or a definitive that he is leaving but something tells me he will be.

I think you should learn to speak for yourself.Try saying no to others when they are causing you inconvenience. Why should you rescue others? Politely declining someone isn't wrong.

Completely different world in the grocery business.. not so easy to say "no" when you know that either you go in or they get someone from a different store - billed to your store - who may or may not care about blocking as well or as quick as you do...
