Moving out, moving up, moving on...

There are some really big changes happening in my household lately. It started on Friday. My firstborn flew the coop. He moved out. He's 19, been out of school for a year, college didn't work out for him so he's just been working. He and a couple of his friends got an apartment together and they moved in there Friday. Today my twins had a little graduation ceremony at school. They've officially graduated middle school and will be attending high school in the fall. Lastly, on Wednesday my 2nd youngest will also be having a graduation ceremony. He's in his last year at the elementary school, and in the fall will be moving up to the middle school. Wednesday will also be his 10th birthday... The kids are all growing up so fast! I'm not ready for any of it.

I was terribly sad when my kids moved out of the family home .. Once in a while I wish that they are still living with me .. Yes, enjoy your kids while they are still young because they grow fast ..

@katsmeow1213 When my youngest child moved out, I felt so depressed .. it was a shock to my system to suddenly have an empty house.. But, a few ladies told me they too felt the same when their kids moved out ..

Quite big milestones for all of them. Kids grow up much too quickly don't they?

@katsmeow1213 Wait till you're as old as I am!! . I'll be 70 in about a month. I can hardly believe it. I think I'll have a wake instead of a party!

I feel you. Although i dont have kids yet but i stand as a second mom to my sisters 3yr old son. He's growing up too fast. He doesnt like hugging too much anymore haha.. And he chooses what to wear and eat already.

Oh my, I know how you feel...My eldest is 23yrs and she moved out after getting married last yr. Also, my son just turned 19yrs on Fathers' Day! He hasn't moved out yet, but has been hinting as much to that fact. That would leave 2 at home, but my 18yr old daughter is also talking that move out talk..and so I wait with bated breath as all my grown babies fly out of the nest in search of their own adventures.

Yours will all be gone soon... I guess that's the only good part about having mine a bit more spread out... although my first has left the house, my youngest is only 8 so I've still got time!

It can be hard when they leave home, but you get used to it. You still have a while to go until you have an empty nest

I love having older kids because it means I'm not stuck trying to find a sitter if I want to go out without them, I'm able to have more me time, more of a life for myself... but I don't want them to be moving out or getting any older than they already are! I need a pause button on life!
