Good for Nothing

My husband thinks I look like a lion tamer when I wear my Hunter boots (Wellies) and carry my big stick when I take Doodles, the cat, for his walks around my yard.
The stick is to gently guide him from entering the woods or to threaten any wild animals that may try to attack. The boots are to protect my feet from morning dew or snakes and spiders.
Little did I know when I opened the door for our first walk of the day that a robin would fly from a tree straight at me to within 3 feet. I screamed. That's all I could do.
Little did I know that shortly afterwards, Doodles would fling a mouse out of a wood chip area right at my feet. I screamed. That's all I could do.
I guess I'm good for nothing if worse ever happens.

Sorry to hear she's taking a rest from myLot. It is time consuming, but I wanted to hear about her vacation. Thanks for letting me know. That robin did have babies. They are hatched in the same nest! She was just protecting them. I'm so happy!

Well, maybe your talent is to scream. You will be good if there is a fire.

If we are honest I think we all scream when birds fly towards us and especially if our beloved cats brings us a mouse or two. It's a natural reaction. One day a few years back I stepped out onto the front porch in time to notice a long black snake moving along towards the bushes. I ran out of my sandals and back inside where I yelled at Mike who sat there and laughed at me. I made him go get my sandals. Love the picture of Doodles. Have a blessed day

You are right about the screaming. You are quite believable in running out of your sandals. Lol! I've done my share with meeting snakes, too. They terrify me! Doodles disappeared about 6 weeks ago. When I looked for him in the woods, I stepped on a snake den. They slithered out in all directions. I stopped looking for Doodles after that. Oh, shivers!

Your scream is a warning for others....though it can not save you.

It's good you wore boots and carry a big stick for protection; and your best protector is your kitty. It can guard you against snakes; but he surprised you with that rat on your feet! He's so funny!
