Three Days to Freedom

Based on our timezone, he has three days more to go and it would be a "duty-free," hassle-free, stress-free status. It is Tuesday, June 28 on our timezone, and so on Thursday, June 30, he will step down.Someone new will be sitting on his desk. I am not talking of President Benigno S. Aquino III, but of my husband who will retire from his work on Thursday. It is an optional/voluntary retirement though he is not yet of a retirement age. We made the decision after he said he is already tired and wanted to let go of the stress from his work. So be it, I let him. At least he could do other things aside from rushing to work very early in the morning and return late in the afternoon. Hooray to retirement!

Congratulations to your hubby! He will love retirement!!!! My husband retired early, but continued to keep busy with programs he developed. He fully retired when I did. Stress is not healthy.

This is the best part that most working people look forward to. He has many plans and the best part of it is keeping healthy by exercising, walking a lot, etc.

For Pnoy? ha ha ha! Yes,he can rest a lot, unlike when working when he still has to attend to some calls, etc. which are work-related.

A lot of companies are offering pay packages for those who retire early. Hope he finds something to keep him busy. Here it is still the 27th early afternoon.

Yes, we are advanced almost a day from your end. We are planning so many things to do to keep busy; I don't have any problems because I have sites like myLot and all other things that keep me busy everyday.

Similar case with my husband and me. We also retired before our retirement age and we are now enjoying a new kind of freedom.

@acelawrites You must have money for your daily survival even if you don't work anymore, otherwise you will regret having stopped working.

I retired much early than him because I felt I would have a heart attack or stroke due to the stressful job I had. Working people should think like you and me so we can still enjoy what we had worked for so long. But one should be wise enough financially to totally enjoy retirement.

@acelawrites Been there since 2011. I tell you, I missed waking up too early to prepare for work and be home too late for the kids' homework, but, it was for few days only. Now? I can sleep for as long as I want and be with our kids, unli!

@KnehKnah and that is the best part of it, no more worries about being late for work and getting up early though the body does not want it. At last!

I'm sure you'll both love your husband being retired. My husband retired a couple of years early too. He was tired and stressed. We'd have some lovely years together since. I wish you every happiness.

It's wonderful if you can afford it, more time to do the things you enjoy.
