The Ceiling Work So Far

United States
June 27, 2016 5:23pm CST
Hubby has been so busy with getting the ceiling done. It is the first thing he wanted to complete. As you can see it was a lot of work. There are only fans to cool the place as he does his work. I am hoping that it is completed before Friday so we can start the other projects. Where he finds his energy I'll never know. He is up at 4:00 and works until 3:30. He comes home long enough to have dinner and he heads out to the trailer. I was awake at 5 this morning. Came home, had a few sips of a cup of coffee and fell asleep. I am a slug.

Aren't you giving hubby a hand? You could be a great help.

@RubyHawk he did okay last night. I will go down tonight and probably start the process of moving the carpet out of the bedroom. It is nasty.

@ElusiveButterfly He's a good man. I'm sure he will call you if it's something safe.

Wow! A ton of work-we have done a few places over the years and phew! Without air-it is really hard. Are you near us? We will come and help!

Some people just have more energy than others. I have a lot of energy, but I absolutely hate doing any ceiling work. Is he screwing in boards? I helped put up drywall and hated that job.

@Carmelanirel2 he is getting a great deal of satisfaction from doing this task. He is looking forward to doing the other work that needs to be done.

@ElusiveButterfly Still, looks tedious and not at all a job I would want to do. You are fortunate.

I hope it cools down a bit, so he is able to be comfortable while he works

We went to the trailer last night. He went before I did though. I wasn't sure I could handle the heat. Once I got there I tackled the bathroom. Each room is a mess. Got the bathroom counter and cupboards cleaned. Ripped up the carpet in the bedroom and swept the floor.

I love the paneling. Is it real wood? You'll need a light color on the ceiling to complement it, eh?

The wood on the ceiling will remain as it is. I am not impressed with the dark paneling. My husband wants to eventually put the same wood over the paneling.

Putting in ceilings is hard work. Working with your hands above your head like your husband is beyond us now. We'd have to get help for something like that. It will look lovely when it is finished.

@JudyEv He wants to tear up the carpet and lay wood laminate. That will be a project for next year. We need to set priorities and save for those projects that can wait.

His plan is to do the entire trailer with this wood. At the moment there is enough for the living room and dining room.

At my brother's suggestion we decided to use roughcut lumber to fix ceiling. It looks great!

We will get it done a little at a time. My brother will help out with the windows and putting in the outlet for the dryer, plus a few other things that my hubby can't do on his own.

In India such things are to be seen rarely. He is doing the work by himself. A great work. Give him some time.

He takes his time and doesn't rush. Rushing only makes for sloppy results.
