My dogs skin looks terrible, flies are always around him. We tried spraying vinegar, normal one and apple cider but it rarely works. I think it is because of the many fleas he has on him so he scratches real hard which causes him to have wounds. does anyone have the same problem? what can you suggest?

I've never had any luck getting rid of fleas except with veterinary medications.

In the past when our cat had the fleas, I bought a special collar for him and it could get rid of the fleas. I must say that it worked very well and he did not have fleas after that. I think there is also such kind of collar for dogs. You can check the pet store.

@lady1993 It is not expensive here. It is simple but works very well. It is also safe for the pets.

I have a beagle allergic to fleas. U go to the very and get Trifexus (sp). That keeps them off. She usually gets sores from fleas when she has to stay with someone when I go out of town which results in scratch g and sores. I have to give her a small dose of Benadryl to make her quit scratching so the sores will heal. Not too much, though... just a small dose.

I think you better consult a doctor for your dog. It will help you to get a good medicine.

When I had dogs, the vet put something in my dogĀ“s neck. Misty never had fleas put that had to be replaced every so many months.

@lady1993 If the dog lives outside try this. Add one teaspoon full of fermented apple cider vinegar to a quarter liter of water and give the water to drink to your dog throughout the day. The apple cider vinegar keeps the skin of the dogs acidic this repels the fleas.
