Would You Visit Places That Are Not Too Touristy?

I like to travel to places that are off the beaten track. Why? The place isn’t popular among tourists but it is considered clean, peaceful and unspoiled as compared to famous destinations. It is like the “me time” moment with people close to you. No need to worry the presence of tourists as the foreground or background. In some way, you will enjoy the place and feel so relax. With this journey, it is a chance to discover new things while traveling off the beaten track. Have you tried this kind of adventure in your life, traveling to a place that is not known by other people?

oh yes, I love visiting places that are not yet so known. I remember visiting Sagada in the mid 90s. Tourists you can see there are foreigners but only a few but no fellow Filipino tourists. And they thought I am a Korean, lol. No wireless cellphone signals and when internet is starting in the metro, nope, there is none there yet.

@hereandthere
we were just two who went there. I am with a friend (French) and it's our first time to go there that time. Not a lot of locals knew about the place and how to get there unlike now. I knew about the place because of the book of my friend 'Lonely Planet Philippines' I am just like a tourist in my own homeland. But now, I can be a tourist guide there! lol I love the place. I actually want to live there. If it's not for my family, I would have gone up to the mountains...

I can go to a place that is not too touristy provided there´s a lodge with a good bed and a decent bathroom.

true! as long as there's a safe place to rest, eat and clean up.

@marguicha When I was a volunteer before, I also considered the safety and a place that is clean enough without acquiring sickness.

@epiffanie It is really stressful to go to crowded must-see places.

@Shavkat it is.. so, it doesn't make sense to go to all those crowded places and expect to relax..

@acelawrites This is really one of my plans this year. I want to have a getaway place and travel alone this time.

I seem to prefer visiting places where there are less people or that are less busy. Less problems and easier to enjoy the visit.
