Earlier I wrote a post about being on the inside looking out. So, I was still sitting in the kitchen looking out when I noticed there was something missing in my bird garden in the front of my house. In this little garden we have a bird bath, bird feeder, some beautiful flowers, and a couple of angels, one laying down, like the one in the photo, and one standing up. The one laying down was not there. To make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me I went outside in the humidity and heat to take a look. Sure enough it was gone. Just to make sure my husband hadn't moved it, I hunted him down to ask. No, he hadn't touched it. Apparently someone took it. what in the world would make some body take an angel out of someone yard? Have you ever had something in your yard taken?

I can't believe someone took your angel! That's a huge bummer. We have had people steal lemons from our lemon tree (in the front yard) and we donated clothes to get picked up, people stole that before too.

@HazySue yeah my mom caught the man who stole the lemon and asked why you stole it? he said because we had a lot on the tree. And what, my mom asked the man where he lived. he said near the market. my mom said why dont you go to the market and buy it then. my mom said this one time only and get lost! yea some people are mean. there was a sign for the donation truck to pick up the clothes.

@infatuatedbby I wonder what made him think that it was ok to take your lemons. You may have had plans for them. Who was he to judge that you had enough so he could take some.

@infatuatedbby taking your lemons is just plain rude. I think it's weird that they would steal something you put out for donation.

In the past one or two things of mine were taken. People want stuff, people take stuff. I only want plants that belong to other people. I am sorry your angel was taken.

@GardenGerty it's funny how that works. Things in other people's yards always look better. I hope my angel is well taken care of.

Awww, I am sorry for that. It seems some people take anything not nailed down. Even though I don't like living here...we don't have to worry much about things like that happening in this area...in fact, I couldnt conceive of it.

@snowy I thought it wouldn't happen here. I wonder if it wasn't a kid or teen.

I hope the angel has a good influence on whoever took it. Recently, someone took a 12 pack of soda from my inside porch. Someone took two lawn chairs from my yard but apparently brought them back when I posted about it on our neighborhood website.

@akalinus I hope she does influence them. I do believe that if it isn't yours you need to leave it alone. It does take some nerve to take something from inside your porch.

Apparently someone took the angel because they thought they needed someone to watch over them @HazySue .

@nanette64 I don't like when I loose something in this manner. I am now over the upset, it's time to go out and get me another angel.

@nanette64 if they didn't need someone to watch over them before, they certainly need someone now.

Is that your garden in the picture. I hope you get to show your whole garden. That angel seems quite a big one. I have one quite similar but of a small one and only half body. Chest up to the face with both hands on the chin also.

@hotsummer no, it is not my garden. I had to find a picture of an angel that looked like the one that was taken. It is a pretty good size angel - it is about 24 inches long.

Nobody took anything from my yard since it's gated. There's a strange story about someone taking a gnome from another's garden and then traveled around the world with it and then returned it after. Maybe your angel flew somewhere else and hope it knows how to fly back.

I've often wondered about having yard ornaments such as that and whether people would be tempted to just come and take. I'm sorry someone did come in and take your angel. I hope you're able to get it back.

@just4him I probably won't get it back. Last year someone kidnapped my gnome reading a book and I never saw it again.

I guess someone liked the angel. This would infuriate me. How dare people take something from a front garden? Some people have absolutely no shame.

I've never experienced it .. someone took the soursop fruit in my grandmother's backyard garden, and I've ordered the fruit for me .. when I was 8 years old and I cried all day because of the loss of the fruit, eventually replacing it with my grandmother bought at the supermarket ...

@herjunot42 the angel is made of plaster of paris. I have had it for at least 10 years. I am sure going to miss her. It's hard to haven something taken from you especially when you are young.

@HazySue yes it is true, we will be hard to forget about it ... I'm sorry for the incident.
