Today I got an email from Mrs. Michelle Obama. That is what it said anyway. She is personally holding a check for me from the bank of Ghana. Yep, another scam email. Do they think we are stupid? I just have to prove who I am. Right!! I wonder if the first lady knows her name is being used in a scam. Is Mrs. Michelle Obama holding any money for you? This could be our get rich time. What kind of stupid scam emails have you been getting?

Very stupid scam email. I received a lot of scam emails. Some even send friend requests first and when I accepted them. They started their litany of stories to convince us about anything so that they can get money from us. What do they think of us, stupid like them? Huh!

I hate those scam emails. I get them a lot too saying you have money from a family member from another country. So annoying.

Just be really careful. Scammers are getting more sophisticated lately even though there are a lot of stupid ones left. What gets me is the ones where they have to sneak money out of the country to your bank account. You keep 45% and send them the rest. Yeah, right.

I've been getting a lot of that type of email lately, but never claiming to be from anyone well known. Apparently some people are trying to get "my" money, claiming that they're my in-laws, and if I don't notify the people holding the money otherwise, then those people will get it. Like a legitimate organisation would pay out the wrong people based on a claim like that!

@akalinus Sorry, I didn't make that clear. According to the emails, my alleged in-laws are trying to steal my money.

@Gina145 Oh, okay. Let me guess. Are they trying to say your shipment is really theirs? I don't read all the ones I get, just open the most interesting ones like the FBI and the first lady.

Those have been around for a while, too. If your relative wanted to give you money, you would know about it. Who knows, maybe Queen Victoria or Michelle Obama will contact you too.

@Jdaw1985 No, it was a scam. It was well run and well thought out, but they just wanted HER money in the guise of fees, taxes and whatever.

A friend here got one of those once. She ran around the neighborhood telling everyone she is getting 3 million dollars. I kept telling her it was a scam. She kept sending them money for fees and when she was broke, surprise! An unknown uncle got all of the money. I tried to tell her, she would not listen.

I've gotten a check for nearly $2,000 to do mystery shopping at Walmart. I won't go into detail but it starts in an email asking you if you want to work part time for Walmart. I called Walmart and they said NO we don't have anything like that available its a scam. What will they come up with next? Shame on them Shame

@Butchcass4 I am not exactly sure. They did pay for some restaurant orders where we had to order certain menu items. She was the one doing it, but they pay for someone accompanying her. Sometimes, her husband went but he was not interested most of the time.

I did some secret shopping with a friend a few years ago. We went all sorts of places and discovered a lot of good and bad stuff going on. She did not always get paid but we got some free meals. It was a pain filling out reports, though.
