Future plans are different in different countires / myLot

I have been in India since my childhood and in USA for around 3 Years now. What I saw in these Two country's parents is totally different. In India, parents save and save for their children future whereas in USA most parents do not take care of their children financially and they don't even save for their future. Is it same or I got it wrong? I know intentions are no where wrong in both side.

In Canada, I would say that many parents make sure their children get an education as a way of looking after the future of their children.

I guess the main reasons are free education and medical facilities in US which is not available in India. People in India has to do everything with their hard earned money. Even in Education and Medical is extremely expensive.

I think it's rather their preference to save for their children or to save for their old age

Yes it's exactly like you have seen. But these days indian parents are like US parents. In past indian parents used to live with kids. But that is not the case anymore. Now kids go out after marriage. And parents don't save for kids much.

US culture is slowly coming in India but it's followed by only those who are capable of paying high bills for expensive education facilities. Otherwise middle class person is always busy in earning enough so that they can fulfill child's needs and wants.

I think its more to do with habit. Saving are an integral part for most of the Indians.

Yes, that's truly said.Indian parents take tension of their children from childhood itself. Most of their life goes for securing their children's future. Whereas in US, people believe in earning and experimenting. Exploring more and more locations, become entrepreneurs, and many more enjoyable things.

@anand3friend I guess both are right . It is this habit of savings that removes the clouds of uncertainty in our lives. Our parents love us and it is precisely for this reason they want us to have a stable future. May be unconsciously but the feeling of savings is passed on to the next generation.
