Have I Told You Lately...

Have I told you lately that I love Louisville, KY? We moved here back in March and I am so happy. The scenery is beautiful with everything being so green. The weather isn't bad either. There is humidity but it is nowhere near as humid as it is in Memphis, TN where I was born and raised. You can actually breathe outside. It didn't really start getting hot here until the end of June. I'm used to the hot weather hitting around April or May. I've also been told that Louisville has snow in the winter and there is usually always snow on Christmas. I can't remember the last time I have seen snow on Christmas day and I can't wait. What's the weather like where you live?

I think it's a bit cooler than Kentucky, but it's not very different. It does not get hot until the beginning of July, but by mid August it's never too hot and we have snow in winter.

@simone10 After the thunderstorms of the beginning of the week the weather is perfect now, dry and with a little breeze. I hope it will stay for a while.

That's good that you like the area you are living in at the moment, and I hope your brother does too. We have fine weather today, I'm just about to get some gardening done.

Yes, my brother loves it here. He has lived in Louisville before but it has been about 20 years. I am really excited to think that we might have snow during Christmas.

@bunnybon7 Louisville isn't usually very humid but the last week or so it has been unseasonably hot and humid for this time of year here.

It really is a beautiful state. I wish you had moved here as we could be neighbors. After living in Vegas, I much prefer the humidity over the dry heat that you get a lot of.

Yes, living in Arkansas and my brother having to work with is awful office staff was an nightmare. I don't see how he did it. But we are both in a better place now and he loves his new job.

Everything green! Oh dear, that surely is a wonderful place to stay. Am so happy for you. I could not wait to see you posting your first snow photo in that place. We are on a rainy weather but rain comes mostly at noon time and in the morning the sun shines. I love this kind of weather because it makes my plants grow all the more.

@simone10 They say San Diego is as near perfect as it gets, but then there are earthquakes so nothing is ever perfect is it lol

@BelleStarr I've heard that about San Diego too. I'm not sure if I could handle earthquakes. We had one once in Memphis and it really scared me. It was back in the 70's and I was a new mother. I grabbed my daughter up and went to stand in the doorway. By that time it was over.

We have driven through KY several times and I used to live on the boarder in TN. We did enjoy it very much there. Glad you love it there. That makes life much better. I have lived places I did not like and yuck, makes life really uncomfortable

Last December 25 it was 55 degrees here. Hope you're able to breathe today with the heat index of 102. Still, you're right, it is better than Memphis' weather, even if just barely. Anyway, welcome to Louisville. Glad you like it.

The humidity has been really tough. You can almost cut it with a knife...it is so thick. Like you said, Louisville is better than Memphis but now by a whole lot the way the weather is right now everywhere.

I'm in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, and our weather is hot and humid. We are surrounded by the Great Lakes and the clouds pick up a lot of moisture from those lakes and hold it in the air. But it will cool off by late August or early September and be more bearable. I prefer the autumn over the summer. Its nice that you're so happy in your new city.
