Should I be Able To Choose The Sex Of My Child?

United States
July 16, 2016 12:12pm CST
I saw this why roaming that internet and I do not think that this is the right thing to do because having a child is already a blessing There are so many people that want children ,but cannot have them because of health reasons. Allow individuals to be able to choose the gender of their child is doing a bit much. It is no longer a natural event if one was giving the right to choose the gender. As If through science we are not already playing god. i could not help it but bring this thought up to see what others think about it

@ANewGeneration that's good.... while choosing our partner we must should date with them because we can conclude wether he or she suits me or not

I also don't agree with it. Like you said, it seems like they are playing God.

@ANewGeneration Good thoughts! And yeah not exactly natural if you're trying to plan it all out. Just wished people would be happy with whatever gender pops out lol

I think it would become a slippery slope. And it reminds me a lot of the movie, Gattaca.

Gender selection isn't just about some parent saying "I want a boy and I'm going to the nearest Fertility specialist to make it happen." It is illegal in some places to do gender swapping without a legit medical reason. Many people have this procedure done to avoid passing on gender specific genetic conditions. Can't say I blame them. They just want their child to have a normal, healthy life.

The short answer is NO! I am not religious. But there IS an order to things. We start down this path and we are doomed!
