People who use "lol" after almost everything

For the longest time I didn't care but I am starting to get really annoyed with this. It actually is just my best friend who is doing it on a constant. For instance if he ask me to hangout and sometimes I may say no because I have things to do at home and such. He will say "lol" or "I see lol" Maybe I am being classic weird about it but something about this irks me the wrong way. I am 29 and yes I do yes lol in conversation through text and other means but saying it after almost everything I say is annoying. Especially if it is something not funny. I am going through a lot right now. The cleaning job I thought I had never worked out and I have been applying to places like crazy since then with little luck. I also have depression and anxiety so doing those things are hard for me. Maybe I am over sensitive where I get upset easily... Does this bother anyone else? If you experience it that is.

I use lol a lot I have to admit. I say a lot of things that I really don't want to be taken seriously. I hope I don't over use it.

I can see how that would become annoying...

I'm sorry you're having trouble finding a job. That alone would cause depression and anxiety. I'm from the much older generation. I don't use lol for very much if anything. When it first came on the scene I had to have someone even tell me what it meant. Most of the time it doesn't bother me, but when it's used inappropriately to me, then yes, I do mind.

It doesn't bother me. But it should be used at appropriate times. Using it as for example: "I am sorry for your loss lol" doesn't seem appropriate to me.

Exactly of course it isn't a big deal to use it. But during a not appropriate time is just not polite...
