Academia, grades and Life.

So from the very start of our live we are subjected to the educational system. We are told that good grades defines how successful we will be later in life. Also that grades determine how intellectual we are. However I believe that the "School Life" only prepares us for the "Working Life" and nothing else. It doesn't teach us anything about the dynamics of life and due to the demand in regurgitating information it doesn't allow students to exercise their adaptive thinking. Do the members of my-lot think that grades determine our success and our intellectuality?

Grades do show how much you learnt. However having spoken to at lot students and friends. Because of the intense pressure of exams, they just learn to memorize and not understand. Because of this they (not all) have the tendency to forget the majority of the information once the exam is over. But very true it does help in success and intelligence and possibly play a part in making you observe/discover different perspectives of the same thing.

I think "school life" prepares us so that when we leave to go out in the real word we might be able to think for our selves. You went to school got your education it is now up-to you how you want to use it.

I totally believe that it can prepare us. But the nature and pressure that is brought on the majority of students steer them in the wrong direction (or has the tendency to). I also believe yes in life it is up to how you use your education as illustrated better in the image attached. Knowledge.... More doesn't necessarily mean better. But correct/efficient usage of knowledge does.
