This is my third laptop and it's always second hand laptop coming from my sisters. My second laptop which is Toshiba doesn't get so hot. My first laptop and this HP laptop get's very hot when I touch it below. It's so hot it's like a hot iron. I'm worried to use the computer a lot because it gets too hot it might explode. Do you experience that too?

All laptops get hot during use, but excessive heat could suggest the fans are not running cery efficiently. Nevertheless, the laptop would shut down before reaching a serious level.

@averygirl72 You need to ensure that air can circulate, especially underneath a laptop.

Maybe I need to place a fan near my laptop. Yeah, it will shut down before something serious happens.

@averygirl72 that's what i asked my nephew. where are the vents of the fans so i can make sure it's not obstructed. i also make sure that the electric fan blows cool air not just in my direction, but also the laptop.

Get the fan cleaned up. Dirt and dust must have clogged it.

I think it is worried if a laptop gets so hot like you said. It is normal that they will have some heats but it seems to be abnormal to be so hot. Perhaps you can use a little fan besides it or today there is a laptop holder with fans. You can try it to see whether there are some improvements.

Computers and video game systems have fans inside them to cool them down. I don't know about laptops though. They should be designed not to overheat. My cell phone gets really hot when it charges it makes me nervous.

I try to avoid graphics card type laptops because graphic card gets hot quickly. Also HP and Dell laptops have such issue with the system getting hot.

There are two things you can do.. get the fan cleaned up and get your laptop a cooling pad. I had such issues with my Dell Laptop.. not so much with my HP.

We use a cooling pad before but it did not last long. Maybe a heavy duty cooling pad will do.

I haven't experienced it. I have a 2nd hand dell laptop. By the way, where do you buy your 2nd hand Toshiba and why do you prefer to buy a 2nd hand laptop?

Never had laptop. I only borrow my sister's netbook in few minutes if I cannot do something from my iPhone. I had a desktop and would still prefer a desktop and an iPhone than laptop.

I had a laptop years ago since I reformatted it, it got so hot when I use it. I tried everything to fix the problem but still no solution. I ended up not using it ever.

Hm, try changing the cooling pad, or a trick that my cousin often used, below the laptop where it heats the most, put a box with plenty of ice cubes and that should do the trick.

It will get wet when there are ice cubes? I need to get a cooling pad.
