Another scorcher on tap for today

United States

According to the weatherman it will be very hot today...OK...we've been hearing that same thing on a daily basis, so what's new? The only thing new I want to hear is rain - and we won't have any of that until next Friday - yes, a week from now we might have rain. Today should be around 98 with a 'feels like' temperature of 105. I walked outside last night bout 7:30 and it was like walking into a brick wall...not that I've actually ever walked into a brick wall, but I did drive into one many years ago, but that's a story for another day! I know it cold be hotter and it is further to the west. I will still take a summer of this kind of weather compared to a winter of one snow and ice storm after another! I plan on spending a little time in the pool but most of the day will be spend inside where it's nice and cool. How is the weather in your neck of the woods? Photo is mine.

I was in the pool but an hour is quite enough for me...when I was much younger I could sit at the pool all day!

We did have a seriously hot day a few days ago,but now we are back to intermittent weather. The average is excellent, but it is interspersed with cool periods as clouds drift over.

@AbbyGreenhill I do not usually mind the heat, although there is a point at which it becomes excessive.

We get a cloud or two but that doesn't take the humidity away. I went out to pick a few tomatoes and was only outside a few minutes and I felt like I couldn't take a breath. that's how bad the air is.

@Asylum When the 'feels like' temp is 105 it's oppressive.

It is hot here too, but it is also very muggy and feels like we may have a thunderstorm at some point. I have to go out for a few hours and am not looking forward to that.

We had a wonderful thunderstorm with a lot of rain during the night and another this morning. Right now the temperature is 82, breezy and sunny. I hope it stays this way.

@AbbyGreenhill Absolutely, come when you like. We are having another thunderstorm right now. My husband is upset because he wanted to test his new car but he does not want to drive with the rain. For the moment I can stay peacefully at home.

It's the heart of July so we have to expect heat. It's moving toward 100 here in SoCal.

We have had these high temps (above 90 - more towards mid 90's) since May. That is unusual here. Previous summers the temps would drop into the high 80's and the humidity would go away for days...not so this summer. August is normally our hottest month.

wow. nice house you got and pool. not sure where you live but here in Florida (which I hate) it has rained at least once for a few minutes every day for about 8 days now and still sticky humid hot as blazes most of the time!
