Ain't you too old to be doing this?

Is there a "perfect" age to do a thing? I don't think so. I was watching scooby-doo and laughing when a relative said this to me... "Ain't you too old to be watching this?" I literately went "eh?" I mean seriously, when is the perfect time to do a thing? When does one become too old to enjoy a cartoon, a film, some particular music? What do you think?

If you're too old for Scooby Doo what does that make me? Scooby Doo is hilarious. As long as that ridiculous Scrappy Doo isn't in it. You like what you like. You laugh at what you find funny. Simple. Age is irrelevant. I feel sorry for people who feel they can't let themselves go for fear of being judged as juvenile.

I feel precisely the same way. Scooby Doo's is fabulous but Scrappy Doo totally ruined the whole aura.

@JolietJake It wasn't his fault. That scruffy hippy led him astray.

You are never too old for fun, goofy cartoons, zoos, circuses, merry-go-rounds, whatever.

I think if you enjoy cartoons when you are young, there's no reason why you shouldn't when you get older. That goes for most things you enjoy - if you are still capable of enjoying those things. Of course sometimes our tastes change.

agreed, I am somewhat less into cartoons than I was as a teenager. But I do still enjoy watching 'em. I always figure anything/anyone who can make me laugh is a real winner

You're never to old to enjoy the things that have always made you laugh and make you happy. If I could, I would sit right there with you and laugh with you over the antics of Shaggy and Scooby-Doo. One of my favorite cartoons.

I would do what makes me happy. Scooby--DOO is my favorite cartoon and we own nearly every movie and the entire original series on DVD. I tell my youngest daughter all the time, I don't care what anyone thinks anymore I'm nearly 50 yrs old and I will do what makes me happy. So long as I'm not hurting anyone else, it's no ones business. I don't own any of the cartoon versions with Scrappy-Doo, that character ruined the cartoon.

@Drosophila the pixar animated films and others have proved that artists can take images and give something to all age groups so I think a judgement call on age there would be totally out to lunch.
