I little while ago my husband and I were sitting, relaxing, having a cup of coffee and watching Gunsmoke. It was the episode where Matt gets shot and Kitty leaves town because she just can't watch him get shot anymore, She was feeling like he was going to be killed one day. Anyway we were enjoying the show when all of the sudden the coffee cup my husband had set on the arm of his chair fell over and soaked his lap. Fortunately it had cooled to lukewarm so he didn't get burned/ It is amazing how big a mess one little cup of coffee can make. He ran off to change clothes while I set about cleaning the chair and floor. What a mess. I kind of thought it was funny, in an odd sort of way. He didn't. Anyway we didn't get to watch the rest of the show. Oh well, things happen.

@celticeagle coffee does stain. You should have seen the problem we had getting the coffee out of his shirt.

Oh yes, coffee likes to get "colorful" that way! Even when it doesn't spill over and make a mess, it sure stains the coffee mugs (and I suppose our teeth) . The good thing is your husband didn't get burned!

Big things starts with small things .. I'm sure "The big bang" started with a "small bang" .. Look where we are now, all messed up ..LOL .. Glad that the coffee had cooled down though .. There is always something to be grateful for , isn't there?..

I remember myself getting mad whenever my kid would spill their milk/chocolate...I have always thought it as a waste of money although I know that accidents happen during most unexpected times.

@lingayako I think as a parent we all go through feeling that way. But as we learn accidents do happen.

Good thing your husband didn't get burned with the spilled coffee. It's crazy how a little mug can create such a mess isn't it

@Marilynda1225 it sure is. It's almost like more liquid comes out of the cup than what went in.

That is so annoying when little messes happen like that.

That could have been very nasty for your husband if you'd just made the coffee. Glad it was only warm.

@jaboUK it could have been. It's fortunate that he always puts an ice cube in his coffee. He doesn't like it real hot.

Even a tablespoon of liquid seems to go a very long way if it isn't supposed to.

@JudyEv it sure did seem like less liquid when it was in the cup than on the chair, floor, and lap.
