Hello fellow Mylotters! I hope you have not thought that I am gone forever. Yes, I am still here but always offline. Since I arrived in the Philippines 3 weeks ago, my writing endeavour has suffered. What I have done was all priorities first that needed my attention.
Firstly, my father has recovered from his illness. He is no longer with oxygen and he can slowly walk already. The coming of our town fiesta has given him the strength to get well soon. Our Philippines fiesta is one of the most important event in his life. It is a celebration when almost all of my fathers visitors from different towns and cities are coming just to visit us and have good abundant food for the celebration. Gladfully our relatives visitors were the one cooking in our house. When they went home , they bring "bring house" (food) with them. Fiesta is a Filipino way of family bonding in honor of our towns Patron saint Señor Santiago aka St. James.
Yesterday was our town fiesta and it was full with relatives. They came here the day before the fiesta to cook for us. Well the older ones, my mother used to cooked with them in their own town fiesta when she was still alive and when it was our turn, they came to our house to do the same. It was fun days of celebrating and now the house is quite.
Secondly, I have submitted my article to our Pilya Blog Magazine before the deadline.
Have you experienced a town fiesta before?
How's Mylot? Any changes?

@thelme55 Oh I thought you're from Tanjay City which was also celebrating its fiesta on July 26 for St. James the Greater (Santiago). The names I mentioned are the surnames of many from that place. Had a wrong guess of your place hehehe! Anyway, I hope you had a great time on your fiesta.

Yes, fiestas are so much fun . On the day before there would be Search for Ms. Hometown and a lot of activities at the town plaza . And it is also a happy time because those who have pigs to slaughter for the foods for the fiesta the next day , are now being prepared .
How nice that your relatives comes to help in the food preparation . Us, it's the caretakers of our lots that comes over to help .

@SIMPLYD, we went to the Miss Town beauty contest and I did not like it. The pageant was very boring, the music was loud and the dances were all hiphop. I did not eat the meat of the fiesta because I have seen the pig in our back yard and I even bought his last few days meals. I pity the pig. My 3 years old niece was even crying when she saw that the pig was gone from the cage. Gladfully the pig was killed somewhere. All I could ate was sweets and salads. I think I will become vegetarian.

Yes, my father was thinking a lot about the fiesta even if he was tied to the oxygen cylinder. He talked about it in his sleep while we were thinking he was about to pass out. Yes, it was good. It would be too much of cooking and I would have gone somewhere thinking I would have to do all the cooking. Gladfully, I did not have to @JudyEv

So you are in the Philippines now? It is good your father is well, and also you enjoyed the fiesta with lots of your relatives who came. It is so good they also cooked for you and your guests. That's a nice practice here in our country when relatives help each other when there are such big events.

Which province is your family from? I've experienced a fiesta in my parent's hometown and I think we went to 5 houses in just one day just to eat. Haha!
MyLot's still the same.

No, it was my sis from Holland and my cousin. I had to entertain the relatives whom I have not seen for years and who came a day early. My father was still weak at that time to talk too much. As the eldest child I had to entertain the guests for my mother passed away 8 years ago @hereandthere

We have various things here that are similar. It is always nice to hear the quiet again though, must admit!

@thelme55 glad to hear that your father is on the mend and feeling better. I will put him in my prayers for a full recovery. Sounds like the fiesta was lots of work but also lots of fun. I too have other issues to take care of like our garden where everything is growing like crazy so I was not on here for some time. Now I'm trying to catch up.
