Do you play any musical instruments? / myLot

Would you believe it if I told you that I know how to play several instruments? Well I do! I know how to play the piano, violin, guitar, trombone, clarinet, drums, trumpet, recorder, xylophone... I am very musical and my favorite instrument is the piano. Do you know how to play any musical instruments? If not, which instrument do you wish you knew how to play?

I can't play any musical instruments. Of them all I'd like to maybe learn the banjo so I could play the Deliverance tune

Ha, that's a good one. I hear the banjo is a difficult instrument to learn.

I took violin lessons for 12 years (still wasn't very good) and clarinet for 7 (which I'm much better at). If my school had let me learn another I definitely would have given piano a try, but since we had to leave regular lessons for the instrument lessons we were limited to two instruments per pupil

Oh wow. I didn't take lessons. I taught myself every instrument I know. I just kept picking one up after another. I was very fortunate to go to a performing arts school where I was able to learn whatever I wanted.

@Bellatricks We were a performing arts college, but a very poor one, and full of unruly children. If you weren't taking lessons for the instruments you weren't allowed to touch them (mostly after the smashed guitar instrument). If I had the money to buy myself a keyboard I would have tried to teach myself by now, but unfortunately I don't and probably won't for a good few years yet

I took organ lessons when I was younger. I could probably remember how to play if I had access to one.

I'm the same with drums. I haven't touched them in awhile but whenever I do I can pick it up again pretty fast.

I was actually surprised how easy the violin was too me. I guess it's because I knew how to play the guitar beforehand so I was a little familiar with string instruments.

I don't know how to play any musical instrument, but I'd love to be able to play the piano. It's very impressive that you can play all those - did you learn as a child?

Funny enough no! I actually didn't learn my first instrument until I was in 7th grade. I never had an interest before! It's never to late to learn.

I come from a musical family. My father plays in a band, his brother and cousins and he are musicians by profession. My younger brother is a music teacher. They play guitar and drums and the keyboards respectively. But ironically i dont play any instrument. However I am a dancer by profession :)

I used to play the clarinet, saxaphone, guitar and drums. But that was in the past. I do quite well at tapping to the music I listen too.

@Bellatricks I learned when I had braces so I play oddly. My flute professor tried to break me of that in college but it was too late

I used to play the piano when I was a kid. Now, I can't remember a single key. I want to play it again. Also, I want to learn how to play the violin.

@Bellatricks You're great. I know only how to play the harmonium, an old fashioned instrument, I am not an expert though. I like the sound of it. This I learned on my own. I don't know the grammar.

I have always wanted to play guitar and bought (another) one a few weeks ago. I have this idea of starting a senior citizen Kingston Trio sort of group and am looking for like minded old guys who really can play.

I know how to play the piano when i was young.. but after college i went somewhere to work and when i got home our piano is completely wreck, after that i haven't played a piano ever.
